Suqian, nicknamed Shuicheng for short, was called Xiaxiang, Suyu, Zhongwu and Congde in ancient times. It is a prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province. It is an important gateway city for coastal areas to radiate to the central and western regions, a core city of Xuzhou Metropolitan Area and Jianghuai Ecological Economic Zone, a node city of the Belt and Road, one of the central cities of Huaihai Economic Zone, and one of the important e-commerce centers in China. It is an economic belt along the East Longhai Line, the coastal economic belt and the Yangtze River economic belt.
Suqian is located in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta and the northern part of Jiangsu. It is located in luoma lake and Hongze Lake, and enjoys the reputation of "Pure Land in East China and Oxygen Bar in Jiangsu".
Suqian has been known since ancient times as "looking at Qilu in the north and Jianghuai in the south, living in the middle of the two rivers (namely the Yellow River and the Yangtze River) and choking the throat of Beijing (namely Beijing and Nanjing)". Qianlong visited Jiangnan six times and stayed here five times, praising Suqian as "the first spring benefit". Suqian section of China Grand Canal and the heritage sites of Qianlong Palace were selected as World Heritage List.
Suqian is an excellent tourist city in China, a national garden city, a national health city, a national urban design pilot city, a national intellectual property pilot city, a United Nations new model city for environmental protection and energy conservation, a national civilized city and a wine capital in China, where Yanghe and Shuanggou are two famous wines. In 20 17, China ranked third in the list of emerging cities and China top 100 cities in 20 17.
