In the morning, my old mother told me very excitedly and mysteriously that she would take me to see a good thing, which has never been seen before in Xinjiang ...
So, I saw this bunch of bamboo in front of me.
It grows under the north-facing window of a resident in a residential area, which is shaded by other miscellaneous trees on both sides. Upon inquiry, this clump of bamboo has spent at least three winters in Yili, and now the leaves are green and growing happily. Moreover, it is the season when there are many small bamboo shoots in the roots, and the tallest one has grown to almost three meters high and will soon reach the height of the window sill on the second floor.
Maybe friends in the south will feel that there is nothing to make a fuss about facing a bamboo tree. Maybe you don't understand that bamboo has never grown in Xinjiang since ancient times, and it is not suitable for bamboo growth.
This brings some surprises, just like the coastal people's surprise when they see the endless prairie in the north and the vast desert where the long river sets the yen, just like the northerners' impulse to look forward to the sea and coconut grove. It is exciting and particularly loving to see the living green bamboo in Xinjiang in the northwest, especially the bamboo bushes with bamboo shoots.
Lao Xia remembers that in March, 219, my friends in Urumqi specially recommended me to watch a news that Urumqi Botanical Garden introduced 1 piers of gold-inlaid jade bamboo, jade-inlaid gold bamboo and Bashan bamboo from Beijing, which successfully and safely passed the first winter in Urumqi. At that time, I remember being shocked, and I was a little excited!
Because of the climate difference between the north and the south, there are naturally different distribution areas of plants and animal species on the earth. Compared with the adaptability of animal species, it is usually difficult for us to create a microclimate for plant species, such as artificial cages (now there are temperature-controlled intelligent greenhouses) to cultivate it, even if it is cultivated, it will grow weakly.
This brings us a limitation, that is, it is difficult for us to see all the animal and plant species in the world in the same area. Bring an inspiring benefit-"the world is so big, I want to see it", so I work hard for it!
In a large part of the value and significance of human life, there is actually a truth: we always want to see and reach parts and situations that we could not see and reach before; Or we always hope to get something that we have never had before through hard work. When we realize it, we call it a dream come true!
Over the years, when I returned to agriculture and planting, I met many admirable entrepreneurs or old craftsmen around me. They tried to grow papaya, banana, many tropical plants and even develop plant sightseeing and popular science parks in Xinjiang, and also tried to build greenhouses in Xinjiang to grow oranges and lemons and various bonsai in the south ... I also saw that many species that had never been planted in Xinjiang before were a great success. For example, yellow millet in southern Xinjiang, Cyperus esculentus (Cyperus esculentus), iron-stick yam in Shihezi and Yili, large-scale sweet potato and high-yield lotus root in Yili (popular science continued in the old summer circle of friends last winter), prawns and crabs? ..... Among the medicinal plants, it is said that the large area of honeysuckle introduced from Shandong to Yili, Xinjiang, angelica and astragalus introduced from Gansu, and pepper introduced from southern Xinjiang from Sichuan have all achieved great success in terms of yield and quality (referring to the main index content).
From this point of view, although nature has actually divided the so-called "original place" and "origin place" of plants in advance, in fact, human activities, especially productive labor, will continuously bring about the second or even third or fourth redistribution of species around the world.
However, apart from the artificial environment, such as temperature-controlled greenhouses, we can see that most plants are actually mainly limited by natural conditions, among which the first factor is related to the sun (climate), the second is related to the soil, the third is water and dry humidity, and the appropriate temperature during the day and night.
It is easy to see that bamboo is mainly distributed and planted in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions of the earth. Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei, Anhui and Zhejiang provinces in China are all famous bamboo townships.
further understanding, we will find that bamboo actually likes to grow in a cool and humid environment.
why didn't bamboo grow in Xinjiang since ancient times?
First, the winter temperature in northwest Xinjiang is too low and cold, especially the winter is too long (about 5 months), which makes most southern plants unable to survive, such as bamboo; Second, the summer sunshine in Xinjiang is too strong, and the average daily illumination time is too long. Strong light can easily wither bamboo, which is not conducive to growth and development.
However, today, Lao Xia saw this clump of bamboo in front of him, and it really thrived in the back corner of this community, and it has been several years. Coupled with the bamboo news in Urumqi in 219, this at least tells us that there may be some "microclimate" in some small environments, and we are expected to create possibilities through people's "subjective initiative".
With such a comb, Lao Xia actually feels itchy!
do you understand? That is to say, in fact, I really want to create a "microclimate", and try to have such a clump of bamboos in front of and behind the study of my "humble alley and old courtyard" another day ... < P > "How much you love, how beautiful the world is!" As Lao Xia said in the morning, I look forward to bringing a little bit of beauty to life with my own hands. I think everyone does! Including you!
