Pteridium aquilinum is a Pteridium plant, also known as fistula potherb. It looks a bit like shepherd's purse. It usually ripens in May-June in spring, and can be picked 3-4 times a year. It is widely planted in various subtropical and temperate regions.
What is bracken like?
Pteridium aquilinum is a variety of pteridophyte in Europe. This plant can be as high as 1 m. Its rhizome is long and horizontal, its leaves are oblong and triangular, about 40cm long, and they spread obliquely each other. The dried leaves are leathery and dark green in color.
Fern practice
