What is the purine content of bighead carp?
Purine content: 25- 150mg/ 100g. Bighead carp belongs to medium purine food, so it is suggested that gout patients should eat less or not.

Most fish belong to high purine, a few are middle purine and a few are low purine. (< 25mg belongs to low purine, 25 ~ 150mg belongs to middle purine, > 150 belongs to high purine).

Only Siniperca chuatsi (other aquatic products including sea cucumber and jellyfish skin) belong to hypopurine fish.

The fish belonging to middle purine include tuna, mandarin fish, perch, eel, cod, swordfish, abalone, eel, swordfish, crucian carp, grass carp and black pomfret (other aquatic products include fish balls, shark skin, crab, squid, shark fin, shrimp and eel).

Other fish have higher purine content, such as squid, salmon and hairtail.

Other intermediates of purine content

Purine content between 50- 150mg is moderate purine food, which is prohibited for patients with acute gout attack and can be eaten in moderation during remission. Purine content greater than 150mg is a high purine food, which is prohibited for patients with hyperuricemia and gout.

Common freshwater fish is grass carp, and its purine content is 140.3mg/ 100g, carp137.1mg/100g, and silver carp 202.4mg/ 100g.
