Marigold
A. Marigold planting time:
Marigold grows at a temperature of 7 to 20 degrees Celsius and is suitable for sowing in the spring and fall. Sowing in spring from February to May and in fall from August to October. Southern winter temperatures above 10 degrees can be sown. Seedlings can withstand winter temperatures of minus 9 degrees Celsius, adult plants to 0 degrees Celsius, if the temperature is too low, the planting needs to be added after the protective film for heat preservation, preferring light and light shade, with a certain degree of drought tolerance.
Two, marigold planting method:
1, seeding amount: marigold seeding amount in 4~6kg/mu. The sowing amount varies with different sowing methods.
2, ground preparation: marigolds prefer loose, well-drained, fertile soil, before sowing, first of all, fine ground preparation, harrowing depth of 20 ~ 25 cm, so that the surface soil is finely crushed, ursing the town to make the field level. At the same time to apply enough appropriate fertilizer, 10 to 15Kg of nitrogen fertilizer per acre of basal application, phosphorus fertilizer 5 to 10Kg, to keep the soil is a wet state.

3, seed treatment: to choose high-quality marigold seeds, before sowing to sun seed, the thickness of 1 cm, sunshine 4 to 6 hours or so, you can remove the seeds of pathogenic bacteria, improve the germination rate. Then put them in warm water to soak for 3 to 10 hours, the seeds absorb water and swell up. Spread the seeds on the soil surface, then cover with a layer of fine soil and water appropriately to keep the soil moist. Seedlings usually emerge 7~12 days after sowing. When the seedlings grow 2~3 true leaves, you can start to put seedlings, inter-seedling and set seedlings. It is important to control the density so as not to affect the quality of late growth and flowering.

4, management: in when the marigold seedling height of about 30 cm combined with pulling weeds, plowing and loosening the soil, lack of water should be watered in a timely manner, the amount of irrigation depending on the moisture content, in the bud period should be combined with the fertilization. Marigolds are susceptible to pests and diseases during their reproductive period and in hot weather, so they should be sprayed with drugs in time after discovery to avoid affecting the flowering period.
Three, the main role of marigold:
Marigold chrysanthemums are widely cultivated in gardens, and are mostly used in potted ornamental plants and flower beds, with high ornamental value; they can also be used for food, with the role of cooling and reducing the fire; they also have a high medicinal value, and they can be said to be a kind of more versatile flower species.
