Pork jerky is a very popular meat snack that is not only tasty but also rich in protein and nutrients. The process of making pork jerky is very easy and only requires a few simple steps to create a delicious pork jerky.
Step 1: Buy Pork
Buying pork is the first step in making pork jerky. Choose a fresh piece of pork and cut it into long strips. It is best to choose a pork loin or a piece of pork with a 3:1 ratio of pork loin plus fat to create a more flavorful pork jerky.
Step 2: Marinate the Pork
Put the chopped pork pieces into a blender, add appropriate amount of salt, sugar, soy sauce, cooking wine and five-spice powder, mix well and marinate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours.
Step 3: Dry the Pork
Take out the marinated pork cubes and dry the surface with paper towels, then hang the pork cubes in a ventilated place to dry until the pork becomes dry.
Step 4: Drying Pork
Put the dried pork cubes into the oven, control the oven temperature at about 100 degrees, and bake for 2-3 hours until the pork is dry. You can add some seasonings like chili powder or cumin powder according to your personal taste.
Step 5: Storing Dried Pork
Place the roasted dried pork in a ziplock bag and store in the refrigerator. The pork jerky will keep for months and can be eaten anytime.
