So, Liu Xiahui took this woman in. Seeing that she had been frozen for a long time, she couldn't stretch to keep warm in the house, so she sat in his arms for fear of freezing to death. He unbuttoned his coat and wrapped her in clothes, so they sat together all night. Liu Xiahui held the woman in her arms without any deviant behavior, so it was widely circulated, and Liu Xiahui was recognized as a gentleman and became a model for men.

There is also a saying that one summer, Liu Xiahui went out to visit relatives and friends, and suddenly encountered heavy rain on the way, so he ran to the ancient temple in the suburbs to take shelter from the rain, but he didn't go in, only stepped into the threshold and found a woman in the temple twisting clothes wet by the rain naked, so she hurried out and stood under the locust tree, letting the heavy rain hit. The woman in the back hall found herself standing in wet clothes. Therefore, it is passed down as a much-told story, so it has the reputation of "sitting with your arms (Huai) and not messing around".
