PS: If the page is long and the searched keywords appear in many places, you can use the "Search" function again until you reach the target area.
Quickly add page bookmarks:
Use "menu > navigation > add bookmark" to quickly bookmark the current browsing page;
In addition, you can use the shortcut menu to quickly add bookmarks. Different versions of UCWEB browsers may have slightly different shortcut menu contents.
Call/send a message:
UCWEB browser supports background operation. If you need to make a phone call or send a text message during page browsing, you can switch the software to background operation, and then make a phone call or write a text message:
On the intelligent platform:
Symbian, PPC and SP mobile phone platforms all support multiple softwares running at the same time, which can be easily and freely switched: for example, for Symbian mobile phones, you can press and hold the multimedia key and select the mobile phone from the pop-up options; Or press the hang-up key to switch the software to the background, or switch to the mobile phone desktop, where all mobile phone functions can be operated. After finishing the operation, press and hold the multimedia key, and select UCWEB browser from the pop-up options.
On non-intelligent platforms:
Non-intelligent platform mainly refers to Java platform:
1)Java version of UCWEB browser provides the function of calling and sending short messages: menu >;; Tools > mobile phone, select "Send SMS" or "Call"; These two functions directly call the functions of the mobile phone itself, and there will be no free or extra charges.
2) For mobile phones with Sony Ericsson non-UIQ platform, you can use: menu >;; Settings > running in the background to cut the software in the background, and do other mobile phone related operations. After the operation is completed, you can call up the UCWEB browser running in the background by casually enabling an application software.
Browse home page URL:
Since UCWEB6, the software navigation system has adopted a brand-new folding mode, which makes the navigation display more intuitive and simple, and the operation faster: click navigation classification, expand navigation, click classification again, and fold navigation again.
There are hundreds of wonderful sites in the navigation, covering all aspects of daily life. Whether for daily leisure or work or study, you can visit related websites conveniently and quickly through homepage navigation.
Enter the URL through quick self-service:
Enter the website address of the site you want to visit in the address bar of the default homepage of the software, and you can quickly jump to the corresponding website;
You can also use Menu >; Open > URL to realize self-service input of URL.
Through personal portable bookmarks:
For some websites frequented by individuals, you can save them as bookmarks, and you can use bookmarks for quick access next time.
Switch to the sidebar "Hot List":
UCWEB6 provides a summary of recent hot information (hot list today).
On the default home page, use the keyboard shortcut "0" to switch to the hot list tab. For touch-screen mobile phones, you can directly click the hot list label in the sidebar to switch.
Use the default home search box:
Click the search box on the default homepage, go to the search input page, enter the search range in the page, select the search engine to use, and click OK.
Use the search function through the menu:
Go to the search input page through Menu > Open > Search, enter the search range in the page, select the search engine to use, and click OK.
How to set the default search engine:
The last search engine will automatically become the default search engine without special settings.
Install the latest version of UCWEB browser:
Online media playback function is only supported after UCWEB6. 1. The version of UCWEB browser that supports online media playback will display the corresponding media labels in the sidebar.
The latest version of the software can be obtained from the official download platform of UCWEB.
Install the online media player plug-in:
To watch video/TV online, you need to install a play plug-in (UC player) in addition to supporting the UCWEB version of online media playback.
Click any site in the video media aggregation. If the plug-in is not installed, it will prompt you to install it. After the plug-in is installed under the guidance of the system, it will automatically start playing the newly selected network media.
Unable to install UC player:
This situation generally occurs in the associated installation of UC player: UC player has been installed before, but it has not been uninstalled normally (such as installing UC player in the card and formatting the card), which will cause software-related information to remain in the system.
How to save more traffic:
UCWEB browser adopts data compression transmission protocol, which can greatly reduce the traffic required for browsing pages.
If you want to further save traffic, you can change "image quality" to "low color" or "miniature" in the system menu; You can also browse directly in the graph-free mode to save traffic to the greatest extent.
How to access WAP pages faster;
UCWEB browser supports "page pre-reading", which can intelligently identify keywords such as "next page" and "next chapter" on the page, and pre-read the page corresponding to the hyperlink formed by these keywords in the background. When clicking on these hyperlinks, the pre-read page will be displayed directly, and there is no need to read online again, thus obtaining a faster browsing experience.
By default, only the text pre-reading function is enabled. If you want to read the whole page in advance, you can change the "Pre-reading Type" to "Text and Pictures" in the system menu settings.
PS: At present, the pre-reading function is only valid for WAP pages.
How to browse full screen:
Java version:
Will "menu >; Settings > System Settings > Full Screen Browsing option is activated.
Symbian/SP version:
Open the menu > Settings > Toolbar Settings ",according to the actual situation, select the part that needs to be hidden:
Title bar: located at the top of the software;
Window bar: only appears under multiple windows, and is the label to which each page belongs;
Menu bar: located at the bottom of the software.
PPC version:
Select menu > settings > full screen browsing.
There is a menu bar in full screen mode:
The Java version of UCWEB browser has the function of judging the mobile phone system: when it is recognized that the mobile phone is a touch screen, the menu bar at the bottom will be retained when the full screen mode is activated, which is convenient for operation.
For example, the UCWEB browser running on the UIQ platform will use full-screen browsing mode and will keep the bottom menu bar.
How to look at websites with thumbnails;
Zoom browsing is a new mode after UCWEB6.0.
Using zoom mode to browse the web page, you can output the overall effect of the page as a thumbnail on your mobile phone, and quickly move the cursor to the corresponding page area to enlarge it to browse the corresponding content. In this mode, you can reach the target browsing area more quickly and directly.
Zoom mode is not the default value used by the software, and can be accessed through Menu >; Settings > browse mode to activate this mode.
PS: The current Java version does not support zoom mode.
There are many "+"signs on the page:
Since UCWEB6.0, UCWEB browser has provided information folding support for similar lists on the page: similar lists and navigation on the page can be folded up and represented by "+"on the page, which greatly reduces the length of the page and makes the page more concise and easy to browse.
Click "+"to expand the folded content, and "+"will become "-"; Click "-"to collapse the content again.
The page picture is not clear enough:
UCWEB browser always * * * provides multiple image quality levels. If the picture on the page is not clearly displayed, please check whether the "Image Quality" in the system function menu is set to "Miniature" or "Low Color".
For the pictures on the web page, if the picture display is not clear enough under "standard" or "full color", you can use the picture enlargement function of the software: select the picture to be enlarged and use "menu >"; File > enlarge picture, and select the size to enlarge.
PS: "Enlarged size" refers to the size of the picture displayed on the page, not the real size of the original picture.
Page picture is too small:
The pictures on the WAP page are specially optimized for the display on the mobile phone, and they are all small pictures that are easy to display. Even at the highest screen display level, the display quality and display size of the screen will not change.
If you are browsing the web, you can set the image quality level to "standard" or "full color" to get a better display effect. At the screen resolution of 176X208, due to the limitation of screen size, there is not much difference between the display effects of "standard" and "full color", but at a higher screen resolution, using "full color" can achieve a better display effect than "standard".
How to save a picture of a page:
There are two ways to save pictures on a page:
Download and save:
Select the picture through the cursor and open the "menu >; File > save picture (java version is' save as target') ".
PS: Downloading pictures requires reading and writing local files of mobile phones. If there is no corresponding permission, the download will fail, mainly on Moto series phones. Regarding the authorization of Moto mobile phones, you can find relevant solutions on the Internet or ask our customer service staff for help. ^_^
Save to network disk:
In addition to downloading pictures to the mobile phone for local storage, UCWEB browser also supports uploading pictures directly to the personal network hard disk for storage: open the menu >; File > save to network disk ",if you don't log in to UCWEB account, there will be a corresponding system prompt.
PS: Network hard disk is one of the data value-added services of UCWEB members. If you are not a member, you can register quickly and freely through the software.
How to save bookmarks in the software:
Using the bookmark backup function provided by UCWEB browser, you can quickly complete the bookmark backup and save operation: switch to the bookmark page and click Menu >; Advanced > synchronization management uploads bookmarks to the UCWEB server for backup.
PS: There are some differences in the bookmark function menu of UCWEB browser versions on different platforms. Before using bookmark synchronization function, you need to log in to UCWEB account first.
It's dazzling to use at night;
When using UCWEB browser in dim light or turning off the lights, it is recommended to use "night mode": menu > settings > theme mode > night mode.
Considering the size of the software, the Java version only integrates the standard theme and the night mode theme, and the operation of opening the night mode in the Java version is as follows: Menu >;; Settings > night mode.
In addition to using night mode, you can also get a comfortable browsing experience by reducing the backlight and screen contrast. For Nokia or Sony Ericsson's Java platform mobile phone, you can directly use Menu >; Settings > System Settings > Backlight Settings "to set the brightness of the phone backlight.
How to view page properties:
There are two ways to view page properties:
1) Use the keyboard shortcut "1" or short-touch the non-hyperlink point on the page to activate the shortcut menu, and select "Page Properties" from the shortcut menu;
2) through the system menu option: menu >; Tools > page properties.
What is the Clipboard?
The clipboard can be understood as a container: it is used to save the text information copied during browsing.
The contents saved in the Clipboard can be called by the Paste command.
How to use the clipboard:
Select the content to be copied in the page and click "Menu >"; The tools > copy menu can add content to the clipboard.
In the information input box, you can use the Paste command to call the contents saved in the clipboard.
Clipboard content editing:
You can access the clipboard management page through "Menu > Tools > Clipboard".
In this page, you can edit and delete existing content through the menu at the bottom of the page.
Clipboard resource usage:
What is saved in the clipboard is text information, which takes up very little resources.
The system restrictions of different mobile phone platforms are different, so the maximum number of items supported on the "clipboard" of UCWEB browser will be different.
How to upload files:
Uploading files requires reading local files on your mobile phone. Therefore, when the UCWEB browser does not have the right to read the local files of the mobile phone, a prompt such as "No Access" will appear.
If the UCWEB browser has the right to read local files on the mobile phone, the file uploading operation will be the same as that on the PC: click Browse File, select the file to upload locally on the mobile phone, click Upload to upload the file, and a corresponding prompt will appear after uploading. Some websites upload without the "Upload" button, and then click "Finish".
PS: Due to different network transmission protocols, the speed of uploading files will be lower than that of downloading; For the Java version, if the special UCWEB browser corresponding to the mobile phone provides the version with certificate, it is strongly recommended to install the version with certificate in order to obtain the best operating experience.
Failed to upload file:
Uploading failures mostly occur in Java version: uploading files requires local file read permission. If the UCWEB browser does not have this permission, the upload will fail. You can try to give this permission to the software in the mobile phone menu. Such as Nokia mobile phone: select Software > Operation > Application Access >; Data access >; Add and edit data > every query;
Some websites may use some special file upload protocols, which may lead to the failure to upload files normally. If it is determined that it is not the software permission that causes the upload failure, please contact the customer service staff in time.
Due to the authorization problem of PS:Moto series mobile phones, many models can't use the upload and download function of UCWEB browser normally. This is not a BUG in the software. As long as you give UCWEB browser the right to read local files, you can solve the problem, and you can search the relevant authorization methods of software on the Internet.
How to download files:
UCWEB browser can automatically identify the address type, intelligently identify the download address of the file, directly click the download address of the file, and call the built-in download function of the software to download. For Java, PPC and SP versions, you can choose the path of file download first, and then download the file; For Symbian version, the default download path is "UCdownloaded" in the installation directory of UCWEB browser, which can be accessed through "Menu >"; Settings > System Settings > Download Settings "to change the default save path.
Due to the limitation of Moto mobile phone system, some special download files call the download function of the mobile phone's own browser.
Unable to download file:
Before downloading files, the software needs to obtain read and write permissions for local files of the mobile phone. When the software does not have this permission, some abnormal prompts will appear.
If the download failure is not due to the software permission problem, please contact our customer service staff as soon as possible to help us improve the software better. ^_^
Unknown file after download:
There are two possibilities for this to happen:
1) Some websites use the anti-theft chain mechanism, and direct click download is not supported. If you download it directly, you will get an unknown file without suffix.
2) Before 2)UC web 6, you can change the file name of the downloaded file before downloading. If the file suffix is deleted when renaming the file, you will get an unknown file without suffix after downloading: download a xxx.mp3 file, rename it as yyy, and do not add the file suffix ".mp3", then you will get an unknown file without suffix "yyy" after downloading. If this is the case, use the Rename function to add the corresponding suffix to the file.
Invalid forum download:
The forum download may be invalid for the following reasons:
1) Most forums do not support downloading attachments anonymously, and you need to log in to the forum account to download them. If the download fails, please confirm that you have logged into the forum account normally.
2) Some forums don't support the download mode of breakpoint continuous transmission. Please try to download the file again using the download mode of "own browser".
Download page file:
Some sites or forums use anti-theft chain mechanism, and it is not supported to download files with third-party download tools (downloading resources on these sites with mobile phones is equivalent to downloading resources with third-party tools on PC).
This kind of problem is a technical difficulty. In this case, we can give feedback to our customer service staff to help us improve the software better. ^_^
How to change the download path:
UCWEB browsers on Java and PPC/SP platforms allow you to select the file download and save path before downloading.
The default saving path of Symbian UCWEB browser download files is the "UCdownloaded" folder under the software installation directory, which can be accessed through "menu >"; Settings > System Settings > Download Settings "to change the default save path.
Speed drops after downloading 300K:
The default value of the breakpoint continuation segment size of UCWEB6 is 300K. After downloading to the 300K file, the downloading process is completed once, and the download application is submitted to the target server again to download another file. Therefore, it is impossible to reach the download peak instantly, and there is a phenomenon of "slowing down after downloading 300 K".
Opening the download file prompts "Invalid":
1) Open the downloaded file with prompts such as "invalid file" and "file damaged", first confirm whether the downloaded file size is consistent with the download source. When the network connection is unstable, the file download may be incomplete. If this is the case, downloading the file again can generally solve the problem.
2) 2) The download function of "breakpoint continuation" in UCWeb browser may not be good enough for some sites, resulting in abnormal download and incomplete download of files. At this time, you can try to download files with your own browser. If you can download the file with your own browser, please contact our customer service staff to help us improve the software better. Thank you, _
The software prompts "No Access":
This prompt usually appears in the Java version, because the software can't get the permission to read the local files of the mobile phone, so it gives the software permission in the system. Such as Nokia mobile phone: select Software > Operation > Application Access >; Data access >; Add and edit data > every query;
For Moto series mobile phones, you can search for relevant solutions online or consult our customer service staff.
Garbled download file name:
The download file name may be confused for the following reasons:
1) brushed the font file of the mobile phone.
2) Some third-party themes are used.
3) Due to the limitation of some mobile phone systems, Chinese characters cannot be processed.
Downloading large files is getting slower and slower:
It is normal for mobile phones to download oversized files more and more slowly;
1) After a long period of large-scale data exchange, the efficiency of memory release will gradually decrease, resulting in slow software running;
2) Large files are generally downloaded to the external data storage card, and the external data will run at a high speed after being stored for a period of time, which will generate a certain amount of heat, thus slowing down the data reading and writing speed.
How to add bookmarks in browsing:
During browsing, you can save the currently visited page as a bookmark for later access: menu >;; Navigate > add bookmark.
In addition, you can quickly add bookmarks through the "shortcut menu": the mobile phone with keyboard can activate the shortcut menu through the default keyboard shortcut "1" and select "Add Bookmark"; Touch-screen phones such as PPC can activate shortcut menus by short touching non-hyperlink points on the page.
How to add bookmarks manually:
The steps to manually add bookmarks in UCWEB6 are as follows:
1) to enter the bookmark page. Through the "menu >; Open > bookmarks to enter the bookmark management page.
PS: You can also reach the bookmark management page by switching the sidebar label on the default home page.
2) in the bookmark management page through the "menu >; Add > Bookmark to enter a new bookmark editing page, fill in the name of the bookmark in the Title, fill in the URL corresponding to the bookmark in the Path, and select Save to finish adding the bookmark manually.
What is Bookmark Synchronization?
Bookmark synchronization is a bookmark backup method provided by UCWEB company: the local bookmark file of mobile phone can be uploaded to the corresponding UCWEB server for backup; You can also download the bookmark file that was originally backed up in the server to this machine to realize the recovery of the local bookmark of the mobile phone.
This function is a unique data value-added service for UCWEB members. Users who are not UCWEB members can quickly complete free membership registration through the registration guidance system.
What are "forward sort" and "reverse sort"?
Bookmark files are arranged in ascending and descending order of English letters.
After bookmark synchronization, the number of entries is wrong:
The probability of this happening is extremely low, and it mostly happens when the old and new versions of UCWEB browser are mixed. For example, uploading 52 bookmarks with the old version of UCWEB browser, downloading bookmarks in the new version will find 54 bookmarks, two of which have been deleted before ... The solution is to delete those two bookmark files in the new version, upload and back up bookmarks again.
There are some differences between the old and new UCWEB versions in some mechanisms, which may lead to some abnormal situations. When using the old and new UCWEB versions at the same time, you can ask our customer service staff for help.
How to edit bookmarks quickly:
If you need to edit multiple bookmarks at the same time, you can synchronize the bookmarks to the ucweb server first, and then visit UCWEB official website "My Site" on the PC side. After logging in to your account, enter Favorites, find the bookmark to edit in the bookmark list, and click Edit icon on the page to edit the bookmark file. After editing, download bookmarks from the server to the mobile phone using bookmark synchronization function.
There are many bookmarks, which are very troublesome to find;
UCWEB6 browser supports creating bookmark directory under bookmark page.
When many bookmark files are saved, you can create different folder directories under the bookmark page to store different categories of bookmark files: in the bookmark page, click Menu >; Add > Directory "to add a new bookmark folder.
Using different bookmark folders to store bookmark files can not only save page space, but also make bookmark search and management easier.
Is there a limit to the number of items synchronized by bookmarks?
There is no limit on the number of items in bookmark synchronization, so you can safely upload the local bookmark file of your mobile phone to UCWEB server for saving.
What is "My Mailbox":
My email address is a free personal data value-added service provided by UCWEB company for UCWEB members. Just bind the daily mailbox (one or more) with the UCWEB account, and you can send and receive mail from this mailbox through the UCWEB browser.
How to create a mailbox account:
1) Log in to UCWEB account, enter the "My Site" page, click "My Email" and go to the email account setting page;
2) Click "New" to add an email account and enter the account creation page;
3) Fill in the email user name and select the domain name corresponding to the email; If the email domain name is not in the list, please fill in the email address completely at the bottom of the page. When finished, click "Next";
4) Fill in the login password of the email. For mainstream mailboxes, you can directly identify the POPS/SMTP server to which the email belongs; If the POPS/SMTP server to which the mail belongs cannot be automatically identified, you need to enter it manually, and you can query the POPS/SMTP server parameters from the mail service provider. In Advanced Options at the bottom of the page, you can define some advanced parameters. After completing all the forms, click "Next";
5) Finish adding the email account.
Can I only send and receive regular mail?
In addition to sending and receiving ordinary mail, it also supports sending and receiving emails with attachments and emails in HTML format. For some commonly used offic documents, direct online opening is supported.
Will it affect the original email:
The mail function of UCWEB browser only copies the corresponding mail in the target mailbox to the mobile phone. Deleting or editing the mail received in the mobile phone will not affect the original mail in the target mailbox, nor will it cause other mail clients to be unable to receive the mail in this mailbox.
Unable to send and receive messages:
If you use a non-mainstream mailbox, please check whether the POPS/SMTP parameters of the email are set correctly. If there is no problem with the parameters, you can give feedback to our customer service staff to help us improve the software. ^_^
PS: At present, some newly applied mailboxes no longer support POP3 protocol (Netease series mailboxes applied after 2007 do not support POP3 protocol), which leads to the inability to use the mailbox function in UCWEB browser normally.
What is a "news aggregator"?
News aggregator is an RSS subscription software provided by UCWEB Company for UCWEB members.
RSS is the most widely used XML application at present. Through this application, people can easily get information from the Internet.
How to subscribe to RSS:
1) Log in to UCWEB account in UCWEB browser, enter "My Site" page, click "News Aggregator" and go to RSS subscription page;
2) In the "Latest Recommendations" list, select the category of interest, click Enter Category, and click "I want to subscribe" in the page to complete the subscription;
How to add a factor manually:
1) Log in to UCWEB account in UCWEB browser, enter "My Site" page, click "News Aggregator" and go to RSS subscription page;
2) Click "New Subscription (Free)" in the page to enter the RSS factor adding page, fill in the URL corresponding to the factor to be subscribed in the input box at the top of the page, and click "Subscribe" to finish adding the RSS factor manually.
RSS has not been updated for a long time:
RSS has a very interesting feature: the more people subscribe, the faster the content is updated; The fewer people subscribe, the slower the content updates. If you find that the subscribed RSS factor has not been updated for a long time, it may be invalid, or the number of subscribers has become very small.
The factors in the RSS factor recommendation list in UCWEB browser are all popular. Selecting the factors in the recommendation list to subscribe can avoid "not updating for a long time" when no one subscribes to the factors.
How to cancel RSS subscription:
After the RSS factor subscription is successful, the corresponding RSS factor category will appear on the news aggregator page. Select the RSS category you want to unsubscribe from, and then click Enter. In the factor page, click "Unsubscribe" at the top of the page.
What is "My Hard Disk":
"My Hard Disk" is a line data storage service provided by UCWEB Company for UCWEB members. Users can upload any file (less than the network hard disk space) in their mobile phones or networks to their own network hard disk and save it.
How to use My Hard Disk:
Select the file to be saved to My Hard Disk in the page, and click Menu >; File > save to network disk.
PS: Before uploading a file, you can rename the file to be uploaded.
What is the maximum space:
At present, each UCWEB member can enjoy 20M personal network hard disk space.
File retention period:
The network hard disk provided by UCWEB company does not limit the storage time of files, so it can be used safely.
Editing on mobile phone is very troublesome;
The function of "My Hard Disk" has been extended to the PC. You can access ucweb official website through your computer, and click "My Hard Disk" to enter the network hard disk file saving list page. On this page, you can edit/modify the contents of the network disk.
