Movies recommended for private home theater viewing include Speed Racer, Starship Troopers: City of a Thousand Planets, Dune, Intelligence Strikes Back and Blade Runner 2049.
1, Speed Racer.
The King of Speed's panoramic soundtrack is great, and the sound production is top-notch throughout, but if I had to pick the most iconic test sequence in the entire movie, I'd go with the opening Willow Springs race. In terms of sound effects alone, the soundstage for this scene is so wide that you can feel the wind blowing in all directions from around the car as well as the vibration of the glass, the engine roar or the track of the car.
2. Agent of the Stars: the City of a Thousand Planets.
This is one of the few French sci-fi masterpieces, and a very low-production Luc Besson directorial work, his work in the audiophile has a high reputation, such as this killer is not too cold, as well as Supernatural, as well as the Fifth Element and so on.
3. Dune.
Dune's soundtrack is excellent, and despite the fact that we've had mixed reviews of the story itself in this country, it still can't hide the caliber of the sound production.
A nice test scene is the part where Paul and his father travel in a special dragonfly-like flying machine to the part where he sees the spice harvester, and the effects here are excellent as well.
4. The Great Intelligence Counterattack.
This is an animated feature film made by Sony's animation studio, the team is the same team that did the Spider-Man Parallel Worlds before, Sony animation has always been a high level of highs and lows, and not many fine products, this one is one of the few that I found the sound effects to be very good.
A great scene is in a shopping mall where a family is confronted by a giant stuffed animal monster, the sound element here is great and not to be missed.
5. Blade Runner 2049.
One of the can't-misses on this list is Blade Runner 2049, which is the most stunning sci-fi movie I've seen in nearly a decade.
In its sixth chapter, K and JOI leave the city for the orphanage, where a lilting soundtrack plays and there's a very grandiose view of the city, with a high-altitude garbage-dumping contraption that contrasts with the dialog in the spaceship's cabin.
