First, the name of Gastrodia elata:
Gastrodia elata, formerly known as Red Arrow, was first published in Benjing, and the name of Gastrodia elata was first published in Kaibao Materia Medica in Song Dynasty. In the Compendium of Materia Medica in the Ming Dynasty, they were combined and called "Tianma Red Arrow". Alias tomorrow hemp, it is also known as Shencao (Wupu Materia Medica), Duyaozhi (Baopuzi), Dingfengcao (on medicinal properties), Helicao, and Zili (Pictorial Materia Medica). Japanese people call it ghost arrow shaft, stealing people's feet and so on.
Second, the evaluation of Gastrodia elata in ancient Chinese medical literature
Gastrodia elata has been highly praised in some ancient medical documents in China. As early as more than 2000 years ago, Tianma was listed as the top grade in Shennong Herbal Classic. In Compendium of Materia Medica, Li Shizhen, an outstanding medical scientist in Ming Dynasty, summarized the discussion on the efficacy of Gastrodia elata in books of past dynasties: Gastrodia elata is pungent, warm and nontoxic. Long-term service can benefit qi, grow yin, be fat and healthy, be light and fit, and increase years. Eliminate bloated, full lower limbs, cold hernia and bleeding. Indications for rheumatism, limb contracture and paralysis; Children's wind pain, shock, help yang qi, make up five soils and seven injuries; Wind deficiency, dizziness, headache, blood circulation and resuscitation. Eating mowgli, etc. "
Third, the medicinal value of Gastrodia elata
In China, Gastrodia elata has been used as medicine for more than 1000 years. Its medicinal functions are as follows:
1, analgesic effect: Gastrodia elata injection prepared from Gastrodia elata has obvious analgesic effect on trigeminal neuralgia, angioneurotic headache, cerebrovascular headache, toxic polyneuritis, etc. In recent years, the clinical trials in some medical units 1000 patients show that the effective rate is 90%.
2. Sedative effect: Some medical units use synthetic gastrodin to treat neurasthenia and neurasthenia syndrome, and the effective rates are 89.44% and 86.87% respectively. It can also inhibit the central excitation caused by caffeine and enhance the sleep time effect of pentobarbital sodium.
3, anticonvulsant effect: Gastrodia elata has a certain curative effect on facial nerve convulsion, limb numbness, hemiplegia, epilepsy and so on. It can also relieve smooth muscle spasm, angina pectoris and biliary colic.
4, lowering blood pressure: Gastrodia elata can treat hypertension. Long-term administration can calm the liver and replenish qi, strengthen the waist and knees, strengthen the bones and muscles, increase the blood flow of the peripheral and coronary arteries, and protect the heart.
5, eyesight, intelligence: Gastrodia elata still has the effect of eyesight and significantly enhancing memory. Gastrodia elata has obvious protective and regulatory effects on human brain nervous system and can enhance the resolution of optic nerve. At present, it has been used as brain health food or brain health medicine for high-altitude pilots. Gastrodia elata injection was used to treat Alzheimer's disease in Japan, and the effective rate was 8 1%.
4. Comparative study on the quality of cultivated gastrodia elata and wild gastrodia elata.
For a long time, there are different views on the quality (pharmacological action) of cultivated gastrodia elata and wild gastrodia elata. Therefore, Zhuang Yi of Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine made a special comparative experimental study (published in the fifth issue of China Edible Fungi, Volume 9). The test results show that (excerpt):
1, pharmacological action
(1) Comparison of cerebral blood flow in rabbits. 0.24 g/kg given by ear vein, the amplitude of rabbit cerebral rheogram changes the same, which all causes the amplitude to decrease, suggesting that it has the effect of constricting blood vessels and reducing blood flow. The amplitude of cultivated gastrodia elata decreased more obviously, and the ratio was almost double.
(2) The dosage of 10 g/kg given by intraperitoneal injection in mice has obvious synergistic effect with pentobarbital sodium, and there is no obvious difference between the two kinds of gastrodia elata.
(3) Pentobarbital sodium affects the sleep of mice, and the dose of 5 g/kg can prolong the sleep time, with no significant difference.
(4) Two kinds of gastrodia elata injection, 1 g/kg, significantly reduced the resistance of internal carotid artery and blood pressure in dogs, and there was no significant difference between them.
(5) Effect on mesenteric microcirculation in rats. The administration of 1 g/kg can enlarge the diameter of mesenteric arterioles and increase blood flow, and there is no significant difference between the two gastrodia elata.
The above proves that the pharmacological effects of the two kinds of gastrodia elata are the same, and the artificial cultivation of gastrodia elata is stronger in the rabbit cerebral blood flow test.
2. Clinical efficacy
(1) materials: two kinds of gastrodia elata injection; Dosage: 0.12g/2ml; Time: 30 days for each course of treatment.
(2) Methods and results:
The root of quality identification lies in clinical effect. Clinical verification of 433 cases in four hospitals proves that cultivated Gastrodia elata has a good curative effect on vertigo syndrome, vascular headache, apoplexy sequelae, neurasthenia and other diseases, with the total effective rate of 83.3%-74.5%, and vertigo syndrome has the highest curative effect. All experiments have proved that cultivated gastrodia elata is no less than wild gastrodia elata.
Through a series of experiments, it seems that the cultivated gastrodia elata is superior in the content of intracellular polysaccharide particles, gastrodin and the decrease of cerebral blood flow amplitude in rabbits, while the dried rate and alcohol extract content of wild gastrodia elata are slightly higher.

3. Patients with otogenic vertigo and neurotic vertigo with the above syndromes can take this prescription with the addition and subtraction of symptoms.
In a word, this prescription mainly treats dizziness caused by phlegm-dampness in water, and has good results, which can be described as a good prescription.
In addition, this recipe is also based on Erchen Decoction.
