Zaosu red pear ripens at the end of July, with an average fruit weight of 300 grams and a maximum of 550 grams. The buds, leaves, branches, flowers and young fruits of this variety are all red when they mature. When mature, the tree can be hung until September, and the fruit will not wither. The fruit is red when it is ripe, with white flesh, crisp and juicy taste and strong resistance.
The epidermis color of shoots is different. Both buds have yellow villi, but after the villi are scraped off gently, the red buds show red and green longitudinal stripes, and the Aohong 1 buds show even red without stripes. This may be somewhat holographic with the color of the fruit. All-red pear varieties include "Hongqie" pear, "Hongbali" pear and "Hongguomisi" pear varieties in western pears, and "Aohong 1" pear variety in China Oriental pear strain is the first one. Western red pears can only be eaten when they are ripe. Fruit is not resistant to storage and transportation, short shelf life, low fruit yield and poor disease resistance, so it is difficult to popularize. Aohong 1 not only has the crisp quality of China pear, but also has the full red appearance of western red pear, which is the perfect combination of excellent quality and beautiful appearance.
