Revitalize the whole body organs! The best gift for a foreign general manager to give to his retirement: learning to breathe
Lee Lung-an (head of Taiwan's Suyue) Deep breathing for a more energized work life Former Wangpin Group Chairman Dai Sheng-yi In 1997, he started walking to reduce his weight. In the first half of the year, I would walk until I wanted to hit a telephone pole, and then I utilized the power of the group to restrain myself. After a year of walking, my body no longer catches colds as often as before, and I feel happier after exercising (this is related to the release of dopamine in the brain as a result of exercise). Suggested happy gadgets are: pedometer, air-cushioned shoes, walking record sheet. Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo, believes that the earlier you get up, the better, and most of the time, you leave the bed at 4:00 a.m. and are at the office by 7:00 a.m. to get ready for work. In 2000, I was first introduced to the Purifying Breath. In the first class, the teacher gave everyone a small tomato and asked us to put it in our mouths, close our eyes and bite it for three minutes before we could swallow it. It used to take only three seconds to eat a small tomato, but now it took three minutes. I slowly tracked the little tomato as it moved around the inside of my mouth, slowly feeling the collision between my tongue, teeth and saliva and the tomato, slowly and gently biting in little by little from the outer layer of the tomato. It was a novel experience to slow down sixty times and taste something that I had never discovered before, and to realize what "food has a taste" means. The True Taste of Slow Living From this experience of savoring the so-called "slow living", I also learned what "heart" means. When you do something with your heart, you will find different things. Although I had a deep feeling, after the course, I didn't really practice it due to my busy schedule and other factors. I had no idea about the breathing method taught in the course, but only remembered that I had to breathe through my nose the whole time, inhaling when I raised my hands upward and exhaling when I lowered them downward; I only knew that this breathing method was related to yoga, and that it was considered to be the best work of yoga. I had no idea about the breathing method taught in the course, except that I remembered that I had to breathe through my nose the whole time, inhaling when I raised my hands upward and exhaling when I lowered them downward; I only knew that this method of breathing was related to yoga, and that it was considered a superior practice of yoga. Fifteen years later, in January 2016, two months before I retired, I attended a five-day refresher course on purified breathing in order to find out how to lead a better and healthier life after retirement. The Sanskrit word "Surdarshan Kriya", initiated by the Indian spiritual master Guruji, means the act of purification to bring about a correct understanding of oneself. In the objective of the course, it is stated that stress destroys human creativity, intelligence and EQ performance, but meditation and purification breathing can reduce tension, stress and negative emotions, improve personal performance, and promote human relationships. It was only after the retraining that I really started to do the breathing exercises seriously, and every Saturday morning I would go to the Living Arts Center for group practice, and only then did I gradually learn the essence of the purification breathing techniques. Three Breathing Techniques to Find the Energy to Rejuvenate Your Spirit There are three types of breathing techniques taught in the course, each with a different function. The first breathing technique is "Victory Breathing": when you exhale, you make a sound from your throat that vibrates the vagus nerve on both sides of your neck, stabilizing the sympathetic nerve, which is prone to anxiety and nervousness, and activating the parasympathetic nerve, which affects gastrointestinal function, so that when the two types of nerves are stabilized, your mood will remain calm. I learned this breathing technique more than ten years ago, and then I learned two other breathing techniques. The second breathing technique is "bellows breathing", which mainly provides a large amount of oxygen to the body within a short period of time, so that the body, which was originally deprived of oxygen, can be revitalized with a sufficient supply of oxygen. Practicing this type of breathing method can quickly revitalize the spirit of a person who was originally drowsy. The third type of breathing method is composed of special breathing techniques, and is specifically called "purification breathing". Through various breathing frequencies, the deepest pressure in the body is released and the optic thalamus in the brain is activated to regulate the various areas of the cerebral cortex. The Purification Breathing course is organized by the Art of Living Foundation, and is led by the founder and chairman of the board, Bilan Liao. Those who have seen her may be surprised to learn that age has left no trace on her face. Bilan Liao is the first certified teacher of Purifying Breathwork in Taiwan. She often says, "Breathing is a very simple thing, everyone breathes when they are born, but as they grow up, most of them forget that when they were born, they breathed through their abdomen instead of their chest, and Purifying Breathwork is to lead us to retrieve the long-forgotten way of breathing". Changing the breathing pattern can change the state of mind and body Each group practiced for two hours, the first hour doing yoga movements, stretching running in place ...... and other movements; the second hour to do the purification breathing. The first hour is spent doing yoga poses, such as running in place with stretches, and the second hour is spent doing purifying breathing. When practicing, listen to Master Guruji's recorded instructions throughout the entire time, and follow the simple rhythm of breathing out and in. The whole time, with legs crossed and eyes closed, can be said to be very boring, but therefore I further realized that patience can be trained. Originally, I am a very impatient person, and it is unlikely that I can sit for so long and do only one simple movement. Over the past year or so, every time I reached a stage in my practice, my body would feel a little numb, and the left side of my face and brain would twitch slightly, only to return to normal after three to five minutes. After doing all the movements lie down to rest and completely relax and slumber. Many people react and experience this differently; some people cry or laugh after doing Purifying Breath for thirty minutes. For me, when I woke up the next morning after practicing Purifying Breath, I was able to have a smooth bowel movement just by drinking a glass of warm boiled water (due to sufficient oxygen in the body, which promotes smooth circulation in the body and intestines at once). I was impressed that when Mr. Liao was leading the breathing practice, he would repeatedly emphasize that "you have to be 100% committed in everything you do". This is something I agree with, because if you put this spirit into your workplace and concentrate on doing a good job, you will be able to reach the realm of excellence. After practicing breathing actively with her for more than a year, my health is getting better and better. Breathe again and experience it anew! Breathing well is the first step towards a healthy balance of body, mind and spirit, and gradually you can find the connection between breathing and leadership, work performance, organizational functioning, and so on. The Indian saint, Guruji, named Shri Bhairav. Sri Sri Krishna. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, commonly known as Guruji. He founded the Art of Living International Foundation in 1982, which promotes the "Purifying Breath" in more than 155 countries around the world. Through the teaching of yoga, breathing and meditation, he has helped tens of millions of people around the globe to stay away from illnesses and depression, and their lives have been transformed in a different way as a result. The branch in Taiwan was initiated and established by Ms. Bilan Liao. Since 2016, the Purifying Breathwork group practice on Saturday mornings has become an important part of my schedule. It not only helps me to cleanse and reorganize my thinking, but also to regain health, happiness and joy in my life. Purifying Breathwork is the crystallization of ancient Indian wisdom, mainly through yoga poses to stretch the muscles and muscles of the body, and at the same time through deep breathing to purify the blood, increase the level of healthy oxygen, and promote the vitality of the whole body organs, and then from the inside out to nourish the body. Spending only thirty minutes a day can relieve stress, detoxify the body and improve the spirit.
