The origin of popsicles
China is the hometown of popsicles. As early as 3,000 years ago, China recorded the use of ice to relieve summer heat. Later, popsicles made of milk and sugar appeared in the palace. China ancient summer food is ice core. Until the Qing Dynasty, when summer came, some people in Beijing bought natural ice cores preserved in winter cellars. At about 1935, someone in Beijing came up with a unique trick, first putting natural ice cores into the cellar.
Many small cylindrical iron drums were prepared, each filled with water with spices and sugar, and a wooden stick was inserted. Then put the small iron bucket filled with sugar water into the big wooden bucket in the soil freezer, seal and freeze. Half an hour later, the sugar water in the small iron bucket froze into popsicles. Because this summer food is very popular with customers, a shop specializing in selling popsicles soon appeared on Qianmen Street.
