"Ambush" is a thriller film produced by Dimensions Pictures, directed by Renny Harlin, starring Val Kilmer, Christian Slater, Katherine Morris and others Starring. It was released in Belgium on March 19, 2004.
The film tells the story of a group of new FBI trainees who came to an isolated island base for special training and then competed with a virtual killer.
Seven young FBI agents, led by instructor Jack Harris (Val Kilmer), went to a small island not far from the California coastline to receive special training code-named "Mindhunters". The main content of the training is to simulate the killer's serial crime process and start investigating, analyzing the killer's psychological motivations and his possible next crime plan. However, from the first day of training, the seven young agents were surprised to find that they had been deeply involved in a carefully arranged murder mystery. The active and passive relationship in the cat-and-mouse game had completely changed. What makes everyone collapse the most is: the serial killer is hiding among or around them, and he is well aware of the psychological weaknesses of each member, and often makes a quick move before they can make effective judgments. Trapped on an isolated island, unable to ask for help from the outside world, and afraid to trust anyone, they can only use what they learn now and use the psychological analysis skills they just learned at the FBI to figure out the killer's next move.
There is a game within a game, and a trap within a trap. A sniper training instantly turns into a death game of being hunted by a killer. The mutual suspicion between companions provides the killer with many opportunities to take advantage of. When surviving on an isolated island, it seems that the only person FBI agents can rely on and trust is themselves.
