First of all, sufficient base fertilizer should be applied. Generally, 1500 kilograms/acre of high-quality decomposed chicken manure should be applied. At the same time, appropriate top dressing should be applied during the growth period. This is a guarantee condition for high yield and high quality of celery. The type of top dressing should be mainly fast-acting nitrogen fertilizers, and attention should be paid to the combined application of phosphorus, potassium fertilizers and bio-organic fertilizers, so that light fertilizers should be applied frequently and small amounts of water should be poured frequently.
Seedling stage: Before sowing, mix the topsoil of the seedling bed with fertilizer thoroughly, rake it finely, and level it. Apply a quick-acting thin nitrogen fertilizer about 10 days after emergence, and apply a phosphorus-calcium fertilizer once when 3 to 4 true leaves grow.
Large fields: The basal fertilizer should be deeply plowed and mixed into the soil 7 to 10 days before planting. After drying, rake the border surface and open planting trenches. Top dressing should be applied diligently and thinly, starting from thin and gradually thickening. It is advisable to use urea and bio-organic foliar fertilizers instead of nitrate and ammonium nitrogen fertilizers to avoid damaging roots and reducing yield and quality.
