In memory of the historical figure Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan was a poet and politician of Chu in the Warring States Period in his early years. He hoped that Chu would be rich and strong, and put forward many ideas, but he was attacked and slandered by his political enemies and exiled by the king of Chu. Later, when Chu declined, Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River in anger. In memory of Qu Yuan, the Dragon Boat Festival was born.
