Wild cotton (scientific name: Anemone vitifolia Buch.-Ham.) is an herbaceous plant with a height of 60-100 cm. Rhizome oblique, woody, leaf blade cordate-ovate or cordate-broad-ovate. Scape stout, cymes 20-60 cm long, bracts 3, shaped like basal leaves, sepals 5, white or pinkish, obovate, filaments filiform; carpels ca. 400, aggregate fruit globose, achenes finely stalked. flowering July-October. Born on grassy slopes in mountainous regions, along ditches or in sparse forests.
