Planting method and time of radish
First, planting time
There are many varieties of radish, and the planting time is not limited. It can be planted all year round, and the planting time can be selected according to the local climate and variety differences. In general, it is planted in September-65438+10 in autumn.
Second, choose varieties.
Radish includes white radish, carrot, carrot and so on. There are many varieties, which can be selected according to your own preferences and local environment, requiring excellent quality, high yield and strong resistance.
Third, prepare the soil
Radish roots are deep and developed, so when planting, you must choose a place with deep soil layer, which requires loose soil, good air permeability, nutrition and good drainage. Apply sufficient base fertilizer in advance and use decomposed organic fertilizer.
Fourth, sow.
The sowing method is usually direct seeding. Dig holes in the divided soil, water them to keep them moist, then put a few seeds in each hole and cover them with a thin layer of soil.
Five, water and fertilizer management
After sowing, do a good job in water and fertilizer management and water according to different growth periods, but no moisture can appear in the soil to prevent root rot. A large amount of fertilizer is needed in the growing period, so topdressing should be done well to supplement nutrients.
Sixth, pay attention to weeding.
During the growth period, attention should also be paid to weeding, eliminating weeds and preventing excessive consumption of nutrients.
White radish is a common vegetable, which can be eaten raw or cooked. It tastes slightly spicy. Modern research believes that white radish contains mustard oil, amylase and crude fiber, which has the functions of promoting digestion, stimulating appetite, accelerating gastrointestinal peristalsis, relieving cough and resolving phlegm.
Growth condition
Temperature: White radish is a semi-hardy vegetable, and likes a mild and cool climate with large temperature difference. Seeds can germinate at 2~3℃, and the suitable temperature for germination is 20~25℃. The seedling stage can tolerate high temperature of about 25℃ and short-term low temperature of 2 ~ 3℃, and the suitable temperature for leaf growth is 15~20℃. The optimum ground temperature for fleshy root expansion is 13~ 18℃.
Moisture: Although white radish has deep roots, it has large leaves and is not drought-tolerant. The suitable soil humidity is 65%~80% of the maximum water holding capacity, and the air humidity is 8%~90%. Too much soil moisture and insufficient air affect the absorption and expansion of fleshy roots, and the epidermis is rough. Uneven water supply can also easily lead to cracking of fleshy roots.
Soil and nutrients: sandy soil with rich humus, deep soil layer, good drainage and loose ventilation is the best. The optimum pH value of soil is 53~7.0. Potassium is the most absorbed element in the whole growth period of white radish, followed by phosphorus.
Light: White radish requires sufficient light, strong photosynthesis, more material accumulation, rapid expansion of fleshy roots and high yield. Insufficient light, less carbohydrate accumulation, slow expansion of fleshy roots, low yield and poor quality.
