Purine organic compound, molecular formula C5H4N4, colorless crystal. Purine is oxidized into uric acid in human body, and uric acid is too high can cause gout. The purine content of seafood and animal meat is relatively high. Therefore, gout patients should not only be treated with drugs (drugs for treating gout are generally harmful to the kidneys), but more importantly, they should pay attention to taboos at ordinary times.
Purine food-related diseases:
Purine undergoes a series of metabolic changes, and the final product (2,6,8-trioxypurine) is also called uric acid. The source of purine is divided into endogenous purine, 80% of which comes from oxidative decomposition of nucleic acid, and exogenous purine mainly comes from food intake, accounting for 20% of the total purine. Under normal circumstances, 2/3 of uric acid produced in the body is excreted from the kidney, and the remaining 1/3 is excreted from the intestine.
