Jiming Temple used to be a monk's temple and was changed to a nunnery in 1958. Jiming Temple, also known as Ancient Jiming Temple, is one of the oldest temples in Nanjing and is located on Jikong Mountain in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, hence its name.

It was built in 300 Yuan A.D., the Western Jin Dynasty, more than 1,700 years ago. Known as the first temple of the Southern Dynasties and the first of the 180 temples, Jiming Temple has always been very incense-rich throughout history, and has a very important position in the hearts of the locals.

Architectural pattern

Jiming Temple gate is located on the left side of the Jiming Temple Road on the stone level, the gate is written in the middle of the "Ancient Jiming Temple" in four gold characters, step into the gate, the left is the food platform (Zhigong Terrace). Before the food platform for the Maitreya Hall, on which is the Daxiongbao Hall and Guanyin building, the hall is enshrined in the two Sakyamuni and Guanyin gold-plated bronze statue presented by Thailand, and the new Guanyin should be molded like thirty-two statues, enshrined in the hall.

The east of the Maharishi Treasure Hall is the site of Pingxu Pavilion, and the west is the Pagoda Courtyard.
