Extended data:
The propagation of Photinia rubra is mainly through cutting. Low cost, simple operation and high survival rate, and can be carried out in common plastic greenhouses.
(1) cutting facilities. Cutting in single greenhouse should be covered with plastic film and sunshade net. After the ground in the shed is leveled, the ground cutting seedbed is established. The width of the seedbed is about 100 cm, and baffles with the height of 10 ~ 12 cm are installed around the seedbed.
(2) Seedbed preparation. The soil in the planting area should be loose, fertile, slightly acidic to neutral, with convenient irrigation and good drainage. Before planting, 3 000 kg of decomposed manure and 50 kg of calcium superphosphate were applied per mu, and the digging depth was more than 25 cm. At the same time, pesticides are used to control underground pests. After ploughing, the soil will be leveled and a drainage ditch will be opened to make a seedbed. The width of the bed surface is about 1 m ... The bottom of the seedbed is covered with a layer of fine sand to facilitate drainage. The cutting substrate can be vermiculite, peat, clean yellow soil and fine sand. Seedbeds and substrates should be disinfected with fungicides and pesticides to prevent pests and diseases.
(3) Cutting time. Plant in early spring in March, early summer in June and early autumn in September.
(4) Chip. Cut semi-lignified shoots or lignified annual branches into one leaf and one bud, with a length of 3 ~ 4 cm and a smooth incision.
(5) Cutting treatment. After cutting, pay attention to moisturizing and insert as soon as possible. Before cutting, the incision should be treated with rooting agent to speed up rooting and improve the survival rate. The suitable cutting depth is 3 cm and the density is 400 plants per square meter. Water immediately after insertion, and spray the leaves with a mixture of carbendazim and thiram anthrax.
(6) Post-insertion management. After cutting, the seedbed should be checked frequently, the water content of the substrate should be kept at about 60%, the air humidity in the shed should be kept above 95%, and the temperature in the shed should be controlled below 38℃. If the temperature is too high, spray it to cool down. Shade from cutting to rooting and germination. After 15 d, some cuttings began to take root, so the water content of the substrate should be reduced appropriately, and generally kept at about 40% ~ 70%. When more than 50% of cuttings begin to take root, the film can be gradually uncovered and ventilated, and the shading light transmittance is about 50%. When all cuttings take root and more than 50% grow leaves, gradually remove the sunshade net and film in the greenhouse and temper the seedlings. It can be combined with spraying foliar fertilizer or applying low concentration water-soluble chemical fertilizer to promote the healthy growth of cutting seedlings.
