When drinking craft beer, you always say the ingredients of double, three or four servings. What do these words mean? As an introduction to craft beer, let's learn together and see what "material" this craft beer has.

Craft beer, commonly known in China, generally refers to a winery with small output and not controlled by wine merchants. Among them, Belgian craft beer, as a typical representative, is a style that many people can't avoid, while Belgian monastery represents the peak of Belgian style beer. The brands of people who know how to drink but don't work, such as Roosevelt rochefort, Simel Westermaller and Chi Mei Chi Mei, have already explained many problems.

Most Belgian monastery beers don't have as many fancy and awkward names as British and American beers. Brown Al, gold Al, double Al, three Al and four Al all have their own positioning and simple tradition.

In fact, double beer, three beers and four beers represent different beer styles, and there is no exact mathematical relationship between them. Do you have a single beer?

There is no such thing as "single beer" in Belgium, but this kind of "single beer" does exist.

Beer in Belgian monasteries is brewed by trapp monks, who are also allowed to drink when brewing. But because they have to pray, work and practice for a long time, the beer they drink is usually refreshing, with low alcohol content (4%-6%) and light color. This is the kind of beer that can be seen in China. Others may need to be drunk locally in monasteries.

1836 65438+February 10, Westmalle monastery opened its first monastery brewery. 1856, monks brewed the first "commercial" monastery beer. This beer has high alcohol content and rich fruit flavor, and black malt is added during brewing to make the wine body appear.

1926, Simel strengthened the formula and officially named this beer "Dubbel Bruin" for the first time. Later, other monasteries began to design and brew their own double beers according to Simell's formula, so today's double beers are all brown or black.

This kind of beer has a general alcohol content of 6-8%, brown body, sweet taste, low bitterness, full body, good fruit grain flavor and preserved fruit flavor. According to the use of sugar and yeast, there will be the fragrance of chocolate, hazelnut, coriander, spice and black pepper.

1934, Simmel Winery launched a light-colored strong Al beer with an alcohol content of 9.5%, which is generally considered to be the first three-material beer. 1956, Thomas, the brewer of Simel, strengthened the formula, used more hops and officially changed its name to Tripel.

? The word "Triepel" was originally used to describe pale and strong Al. There is no authoritative research on the origin of this word so far. A more convincing argument is that there was a mark like "X" on the barrel at that time. "X" has the lowest alcohol content, "xx" has the middle alcohol content, and "XXX" has the strongest alcohol content. According to the current alcohol content, it is about 3%, 6% and 9%.

The label is TRIPEL, and there is no authoritative textual research on the etymology. It can be confirmed that this is a light Al beer with heavier taste and higher alcohol content than DUBBEL. This term was first used by WESTMALLE winery. In 1960s, a strong light Al beer (originally named SUPERBIER) brewed by this winery was improved (hops were added) and finally named TRIPEL.

The three ingredients of modern style may come from the comprehensive title of three different doses or kinds of hops or grains brewing, which is very different from the original triple malt brewing.

Generally, the alcohol content of this beer is 7- 10%, the color is mostly yellow, and the taste is delicate, full and heavy. Fruit flavor and yeast flavor are mixed together (typical WESTMALLE TRIPEL), sweet and bitter, accompanied by spice flavor.

The word tetraploid was put forward by KONINGSHOEVEN(La Trappe), a Dutch monastery, which can generally be understood as double material X2 or reinforced double material. Westvleteren 12 is the most dazzling star in this category. They named this style of beer Abt, while other Belgian wineries prefer to name this style of beer with Belgian dark ale.

The wine label says four times the amount. In fact, it is not a beer, but an enhanced version of TRIPEL. The alcohol content is generally above 10%, which was proposed by KONINGSHOEVEN, a Dutch monastery winery. As for the taste, please refer to TRIPEL. The peak of beer in Belgian monasteries.

All traditional monastery wineries in PS produce their own special wine glasses. It is recommended to taste this beer and use it together. After all, it is high enough.

With the passage of time, beer names that were originally unique to monastery beer began to be applied by more and more non-monastery wineries, so now many beers named after double, triple and quadruple are slightly different in style from the traditional sense.

For example, Tripel Karmeliet beer is brewed with three kinds of malt, and Triple hops use three kinds of hops.

However, the styles and colors of these three beers have continued to this day. Therefore, from the alcohol content and color of the craft beer and the words on the wine label, it can be basically determined that this craft beer is "several components".
