The bean weevil is an insect of the genus Tritodon in the family Coleoptera. The adult head, pronotum and elytra are black, only the ends of the elytra are reddish brown, the first to fourth and last segments of the antennae are reddish brown, the remaining segments are black, the abdomen, buttocks and feet are mostly reddish brown, and only partially black.

The antennae extend back to the shoulders. The elytra are covered with yellow-brown hairs, with brown hair spots scattered near the base, near the middle and near the end of the wings. There are 3 teeth on the proximal end of the ventral surface of the hind leg segment.
