McDonald’s and KFC cannot be compared for the following reasons: 1. From the perspective of scale, first look at McDonald’s. McDonald's is popular all over the world. So far, it has more than 30,000 stores almost all over the world. KFC's stores are only about one-third that of McDonald's, and its turnover is only one-fifth of McDonald's. Moreover, KFC’s stores are also very simple and far less competitive than McDonald’s. It is worth mentioning that KFC “crushed” McDonald’s in China. In China, KFC "beats" McDonald's in terms of size and turnover. In China, KFC has more than 2,000 stores, but the opposite is true around the world. 2. The focus is different. KFC's main strategy is to capture the Asian market, while McDonald's is very popular in European and American countries. In Asia, KFC follows the market and likes whatever they like, especially Chinese consumers. Not only are Chinese foods such as fried dough sticks, soy milk, and egg tarts introduced, but even the taste of the food is closer to Asian eating habits. Therefore, KFC has always been more popular than McDonald's in China, India, and East Asia. McDonald's is the main market in Europe, and KFC has little ability to fight back in Europe. The fast food industry is mostly occupied by McDonald's. What's more, in the minds of Europeans and Americans, KFC is more hormonal and McDonald's tastes more pure. McDonald's also specializes in hamburgers, which are a staple food for Westerners and are in line with Westerners' tastes. Although McDonald's does not have as many varieties of ingredients as KFC, the overall quality and workmanship are much better than KFC. 3. The business models are different. Because KFC focuses on the Asian market, it knows how to adapt to local conditions. Whether it is the style of the store or the products launched, they are more in line with Asian habits. Many local elements of KFC are reflected in the food, which naturally makes us like it more. McDonald's is more European and American and represents many Western elements, but McDonald's meal packages are more cost-effective and taste better. Generally speaking, there is no suspense that McDonald’s will “crush” KFC globally, but KFC can “match” McDonald’s in the Asian market. Their different business strategies also determine their different markets, but in general, both chains are very successful restaurants, and our Chinese restaurants should learn from them!
