First, prepare the instruments: power supply, two graphite electrodes, wires, distilled water (preferably adding some sodium sulfate to improve conductivity) and two test tubes (or gas cylinders).

After electrifying, the gas is collected by the collecting device and connected with the positive pole of the power supply, and less oxygen is accumulated in the collected gas.

After electrifying, the gas is collected by the collector, which is connected with the negative pole of the power supply, and more gas is collected by hydrogen.

Caution: Oxygen can cause fire. Pay attention to safety when collecting and stay away from fire sources!

There are two main methods to produce hydrogen by industrial electrolysis:

1, hydrogen production by alkaline electrolysis of water.

2. Hydrogen production by electrolyzing water with polymer electrolyte.

The industrialization of electrolytic water is still in the development stage, and there are still many problems to be dealt with. For example, electrolyzers usually need high-purity fresh water resources, and direct use of seawater will lead to electrode corrosion and lower efficiency, while chlor-alkali industry that electrolyzes seawater needs higher voltage to prepare hydrogen. How to electrolyze seawater will greatly promote the industrialization of electrolyzed water.
