Nervilia fordii likes to live in a climate with long summer and short winter, rainy spring and summer and dry autumn and winter. Overwintering dormant bulbs generally germinate in early April, unearthed from the end of April to the first half of May (large bulbs bolting first and then flowering), grow leaves from May to September, and the leaves wither and fall off from mid-September to early June 10. The whole growth period is only about 180 days (half a year), and the rest of the time is dormant.
