The steps for primary school students to make bookmarks are as follows:

1. Cut paper strips with a width of 1 cm on paper of different colors along the length direction, as shown in the picture, used in the demonstration Paper strips in 4 colors of red, yellow, blue and green.

2. Take any 2 strips of paper, green and red in the demonstration, overlap them at one end, perpendicular to each other, and stick them together. The red paper strip is below the green paper strip.

3. Next to the red paper strip, paste the blue paper strip, also perpendicular to the green paper strip, but above the green paper strip.

4. Next to the green paper, paste the yellow paper. It should be perpendicular to the red paper and under the blue paper.

5. Now fold the leftmost red paper strip inward until it is perpendicular to the blue paper strip and next to the yellow paper strip.

6. Then fold the green paper strip on the far right inward, perpendicular to the yellow paper strip, and place it side by side with the blue paper strip.

7. Then pull out the yellow paper strip and place it on top of the green paper strip. Continue to fold the leftmost blue paper strip inward until it is perpendicular to the green paper strip. Then fold the yellow paper strip on the far right back and inward until it is perpendicular to the red paper strip, then pull the yellow paper strip out and place it on top of the blue paper strip.

8. Use the same method to weave the green paper strip on the far left. The red paper strip on the far right should also be folded back and inward, and braided under the blue paper strip and above the green paper strip. Repeat the above steps, going back and forth from left to right, until the strips of paper are used up. The paper strip on the left is always folded directly inward, and the paper strip on the right is folded backward and inward except for the first time. When knitting, follow the pattern of one up and one down.

9. When you get close to the end, apply glue to the paper strips every time you weave to ensure that the ends will not fall apart. Finally, use scissors to cut off the excess part and trim it into a nice right angle. A beautiful woven paper bookmark is ready.
