Legend has it that a long time ago, on the Songnen Plain in Northeast China, there was an evil mother-in-law named Ding. Since her son married his daughter-in-law, she has been looking for trouble every day. She always felt that her daughter-in-law had robbed her son. The son was in a dilemma but couldn't resolve it. In a rage, he left home to make a living in a foreign land.
Since her son left home, the evil mother-in-law has become more and more abnormal, beating her daughter-in-law all day long. What is rare is that this daughter-in-law is really filial and still serves her evil mother-in-law in every way. One day, this wicked mother-in-law suddenly insisted on eating the sonchus in the dipping sauce, so she asked her daughter-in-law to dig sonchus in the wild to eat it. Daughter-in-law went to the wild for a long time and didn't see sonchus, but she saw a kind of wild vegetable similar to sonchus. She dug some back for fear of being scolded by her mother-in-law.
As a result, the evil mother-in-law became ill after eating, and red spots appeared on her body, which made her cry and cry. After the son and daughter received the letter and rushed home, the evil mother-in-law insisted that the son and daughter should sue the official and say that the daughter-in-law would kill her.
Fortunately, the county magistrate at that time was an honest official. After asking Qingyuan, he found a famous old Chinese doctor to be a forensic doctor. After being diagnosed by an old Chinese doctor, I realized that this evil mother-in-law was eager for her children, and she was attacked by fire, which led to a rash.
After the truth came out, the county magistrate praised his daughter-in-law, reprimanded her evil mother-in-law, and encouraged everyone to learn from her daughter-in-law. After the incident, the old doctor of traditional Chinese medicine told everyone that the wild vegetable picked by his daughter-in-law was called dandelion, which can be used to satisfy hunger, and it is also a Chinese herbal medicine for clearing away heat and toxic materials and relaxing bowels.
At that time, people associated with Ding's mother-in-law's evil deeds, so they called dandelion "mother-in-law's furuncle", which means that an evil mother-in-law will grow furuncle after eating it. And because this vicious old widow's family name is Ding, she was slowly passed down as "the wife of a woman". Until today, people in Northeast China still call dandelion "the wife of a woman".
Plant culture
According to legend, a long time ago, a 16-year-old girl suffered from breast abscess. Her breasts were red and swollen, and the pain was unbearable. But she was ashamed to speak, so she had to hold back. It was known by her mother. In feudal society, I have never heard of an older girl suffering from breast abscess, thinking that her daughter has done something shameful. Seeing that her mother doubted her chastity, the girl was ashamed and angry, and even more ashamed to see anyone, she made up her mind and sneaked out of her home at night and threw herself into the river. As luck would have it, there was a fishing boat by the river at that time, and a husband named Pu and his daughter Xiaoying were fishing in the moonlight. They rescued the girl and asked about the root cause of the river.
The next day, Xiaoying dug a kind of grass from the mountain according to his father's instructions, washed it, mashed it into mud, and applied it to the girl's breast carbuncle, which soon recovered. Later, the girl took the grass home to plant it. In order to commemorate the fisherman's father and daughter, this weed is called dandelion.
