Hagfish (scientific name: Myxiniformes), commonly known as hagfish, is a primitive animal without jaws, with a total length of nearly 1 meter. It is an ancient fish that usually lives at a depth of 100 meters below the sea surface. It has a white body and yellow, horny teeth. It is a primitive character and feeds on small crustaceans and a variety of fish. Hagfish are related to lampreys. Sometimes they will burrow into the carcass of a big fish and eat all the meat inside the carcass, leaving only the outer skin and fish bones. It is the only vertebrate animal that is endoparasitic.
