Disposable gloves
Disposable mask
Medical cotton balls
Cat cloth bag or large towel, Elizabethan collar (for grumpy cats)
Ear washing liquid (not recommended brand, preferably bought in regular hospitals)
Step 1. p>Feed your cat some cat food and water in advance, be careful not to overdo it, and play with your cat for a while, e.g., hugging, scratching its neck or something.
Step 2, secure the cat
Put the cat in a bag to prevent scratching; or use a large towel to wrap the cat and secure it with only its head exposed, generally cats will not be able to wash their ears honestly, and using a bag is to prevent the cat from scratching and make it more convenient to wash the ears.
Step 3
Drop the earwash into the cat's ear
The ring and middle fingers of the left hand clamp the back of the cat's neck, the index finger and thumb grab the cat's right ear and turn it over, and the right hand opens up the earwash into the cat's ear, until you can see the liquid in the ear canal.
Note: At this point, the cat must be very afraid, paws began to scratch, flinging head and so on, so the left hand must be fixed cat.
Step 4: After the earwash is in, use both hands to gently knead your cat's ears. At this time, you can hear the sound of "barking, barking, barking". If your cat has severe ear mites, it will be very itchy and will shake its head desperately, so you must hold on!
Step 5 , switch to the other ear
Step 6, let the cat shake its head to its heart's content
After kneading, the ear mite feces in the cat's ear canal will be softened and leave the canal, and the ear mites will be washed away, but they will still be in the cat's ear, so you need to let the cat shake this filth out by itself. As soon as you let go, the cat itself will shake its head vigorously.
Please note: Make sure you don't turn your head and body at this time, or the earwax and other dirt will fling you in the face!
Step 7, after the dirt is thrown out, there is still a part that will stick to the cat's external ear canal, so you need to use a cotton ball to help the cat wipe it clean, make sure you wipe it clean, and don't be afraid to pull it out and hurt the cat.
