You can go out during the Ghost Festival, but try to go out as little as possible.
The Ghost Festival, also known as the Half-July Festival and the Ghost Festival, is one of my country’s traditional festivals. During this festival, folk have some taboos and customs to show awe and respect for ghosts. There are no strict rules regarding whether you can go out during the Ghost Festival. However, in folk tradition, there are some taboos and precautions. It is recommended that everyone avoid going out at night.
First of all, people believe that the seventh month of the lunar calendar is the time when the gates of ghosts in the underworld are opened. All ghosts come from the underworld to the human world to visit relatives, friends, descendants or seek offerings. To prevent encounters with ghosts, people often avoid going out at night. Especially when you are alone, you are more likely to be disturbed by unknown objects. Therefore, try not to go out alone at night to reduce potential risks.
Notes on the Hungry Ghost Festival:
1. Avoid taking random photos: During the Hungry Ghost Festival, the yin energy is heavier, and taking random photos may provoke some negative magnetic fields, so try not to take photos indiscriminately during the Hungry Ghost Festival. Take photos at night.
2. Sacrificial activities: The Hungry Ghost Festival is a day for worshiping ancestors. People will prepare rich sacrifices, burn incense and paper, and worship local officials. During the sacrifice process, one should be respectful and solemn to show respect for the ancestors.
3. Respect customs: Different regions have different customs of the Ghost Festival. You must respect local customs and avoid offending local gods and people.
4. Avoid going out alone at night: During the Ghost Festival, ghosts are active. Try to avoid going out alone at night to avoid encountering unlucky things. If you do need to go out, it's best to go in groups and stay alert.
