Chocolate is made from cocoa beans.
The main raw material of chocolate is cocoa beans. Cocoa powder is made by grinding cocoa beans into powder. It is not easy to disperse in hot water and is easy to precipitate. You can stir it with a small amount of hot water first to make the powder swell. In addition to cocoa beans, the chocolate raw materials you usually buy include milk, nuts, sugar, cocoa butter, food additives, etc.
Chocolate is the most classic representative of cocoa products, but many chocolates are made from a large amount of cocoa butter or cocoa butter substitute, a large amount of sugar, syrup, and milk powder. Chocolate can be divided into many types. For example, dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, sandwich chocolate, etc. The milk and sugar components in dark chocolate are relatively low, so the cocoa flavor it contains is purer than other types of chocolate.
Chocolate shelf life
Generally, the shelf life of packaged chocolate we buy outside is generally about one year. If it is handmade chocolate, the shelf life will be much shorter. Handmade chocolate does not have enough preservatives, so the storage time is relatively short. If it is summer, it may break in a few days, but in winter it will take a little longer, about a month.
Try not to put chocolate directly in the refrigerator, as it will affect the taste of chocolate. Commercial chocolate can be divided into two types: pure chocolate (dark chocolate) and compound chocolate (chocolate made instead of cocoa butter). The shelf life of pure chocolate is generally 2 years, and the shelf life of compound chocolate is about 1 year.
