1, Chaoyang District
Chaoyang District is located in the east of Beijing, bordering Dongcheng District, Fengtai District and Haidian District in the west, Changping District and Shunyi District in the north, Tongzhou District in the east and Daxing District in the south, with an area of 470.8 square kilometers and an average elevation of 34 meters. It is the largest area in the central city of Beijing. At the end of 2008, the resident population in the region was 3.083 million, including 2.085 million registered residents and 998,000 migrants.
