For patients with heatstroke symptoms, they should go to a cool and ventilated place in time and immediately give intravenous infusion to supplement electrolytes. Because patients are prone to electrolyte disorder after losing too much body fluids, especially hypokalemia, when patients have weakness of both lower limbs, it may be caused by hypokalemia.
First, get rid of the environment that causes heatstroke, put the patient in a cool and ventilated environment, remove the patient's extra clothes or tight clothes, let the patient lie flat, raise the patient's lower limbs 15-30cm, and keep the surrounding environment ventilated.
Second, the patient should be cooled down. Cooling measures can be taken by using a wet cool towel to cover the patient's head or trunk to cool him down. If conditions permit, ice cubes or ice packs can also be placed under the patient's armpits, abdominal sulcus and outside the neck to cool the patient. You can also use a fan or, if possible, move the patient to an air-conditioned room to cool the patient. If there is an ice bucket or an ice pool, put the patient directly in the ice bucket to cool down. In an emergency, it is usually to let the patient lie on the ice platform to cool the patient down.
Third, rehydration therapy should be given to the patient in time. If the patient is conscious and has no nausea or vomiting, encourage him to drink some warm water or cool drinks. If you have related symptoms, we usually give patients some rehydration treatment at this time. Don't drink cold water, so as not to aggravate the symptoms of digestive tract discomfort.
Fourth, if the patient's symptoms have not been effectively improved within 30 minutes if the above treatment is carried out, then effective medical help should be sought. If it is found that the patient has no response, we should immediately check the patient's pulse and breathing and give appropriate treatment. During this period, pay attention to a healthy diet, mainly a high-quality protein diet, and encourage patients to eat more fresh vegetables and fruits to supplement vitamins.
We should also actively monitor the changes of patients' blood pressure, heart rate and pulse, and sometimes the heart rate increases and blood pressure increases. If there is a mental state such as drowsiness, it is also a very critical and effective way to carry out infusion treatment in a conditional hospital in time.
