Huai'an is a province of Jiangsu.
Huai'an City, abbreviated as "Huai", ancient name "Huaiyin", "Qingjiangpu", prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, a large city of type II. Located in the north-central part of Jiangsu Province, the eastern part of the Jianghuai Plain, located in the Yangtze River Delta region, is an important center city in northern Jiangsu Province, the northern part of the Yangtze River Delta, a modern center city, a member of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area, the Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt, the first mention of the first city, a third-tier city, located in the intersection of the ancient Huaihe River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, in the north-south demarcation line of China, with China's fourth-largest freshwater lake, Hongze Lake.
Huai'an is a national civilized city, a national historical and cultural city, a national health city, a national garden city, a national model city for environmental protection, one of the main birthplaces of Huaiyang cuisine, and has been awarded the title of "Gourmet Capital of the World" by UNESCO, and is also one of the birthplaces of the ancient cultures of the Jianghuai Basin.
Introduction of Huai'an's climate
Huai'an City is located on the demarcation line between the warm temperate zone and subtropical zone in China, with both north and south climatic characteristics. Generally speaking, the area south of the General Canal of Irrigation in North Jiangsu Province is characterized by a humid monsoon climate in the north subtropical zone, while the area north of it is characterized by a semi-humid monsoon climate in the north temperate zone. Influenced by the monsoon climate, Huai'an City has four distinct seasons, concentrated rainfall, rain and heat in the same season, cold winters and hot summers, changeable spring temperatures, high and cool autumns, abundant light energy and abundant heat.
As of 2020, Huai'an city's total annual solar radiation ranges from 110 to 119 kcal/cm2, with the distribution of solar radiation in the city being more in the north and less in the south; the city's annual sunshine hours range from 2,136 to 2,411, with the distribution of sunshine hours also being more in the north and less in the south. The average annual temperature of Huaian City is 14.1~14.8 degrees Celsius, basically showing a high south and low north, influenced by the water body of Hongze Lake, forming a warm center in the Hongze Lake area. The annual distribution of temperature is highest in July and lowest in January.
