What kind of fish is Putian redfish
Putian red fish is red flute snapper. The redfin snapper, commonly known as red fish, big red fish, red snapper in Putian local. The body is long oval and slightly high, and the dorsal margin is curved in an arc. The two eyes are spaced flat. As a juvenile, there is a saddle-shaped spot on the caudal peduncle. It likes vertical movement, inhabits the bottom layer at dusk and in the morning, and often floats in the middle and upper layers during the day and at night. During the breeding season, it spawns from the deep sea to the shallow sea, and then returns to the deep sea after spawning to forage for food and live. The Putian redfish is a warm-water demersal fish with a wide range of habitats, which can be found in mixed reef and sand areas, gravel areas, rocky areas, mud and sand areas or independent reefs in the outer sea. It is suitable for bottom water temperature of 17.6-27.2℃ and bottom salinity of 33.85-34.60. It feeds at night on fish, crustaceans or other benthic invertebrates.
