This entry focuses on the first species of sea bass (Japanese real bass and sea bass), and other species of sea bass will be introduced and distinguished at the end of the entry to avoid confusion.
Japanese real bass, the trade name is sea bass, also known as sea bass, seven-star bass, perch mackerel, and the local names are Zhaihua, perch board, four-ribbed fish, and so on. Mainly distributed in the offshore shallow seas of China, Korea and Japan; China is distributed along the coast, and likes to inhabit estuaries, and can also be traced back to rivers and fresh water areas. Zhoushan Archipelago in the East China Sea and Jiaodong Peninsula in the Yellow Sea are abundant in China, which are one of the economic fish and also the varieties for developing mariculture. The fishes of the family Trachidae are divided into three families: temperate bass, of which 4 species are from Canada, namely American rock bass,
Golden-eyed bass, striped bass and sawed bass; Sunfish family, including Canadian 12 species, including black bass, rock bass and small-mouthed black bass; Sea bass family, including 3 species from Canada, namely yellow fin bass, sea bass and snow bass. As can be seen from the above classification, some species are not called perch, and anglers often use this name to refer to other kinds of fish. The sea bass of the temperate bass family lives in the seawater, brackish water and fresh water in eastern Canada, among which the striped bass has begun to live along the coast of British Columbia after introduction. Similar to the sea bass of the Sunfish family, it has teeth in its mouth and spiny fins. Generally, it has/kloc-0 gill cover fin and two dorsal fins, in which the soft fin dorsal fin is separated from the spiny dorsal fin. The species of this family are generally used for fishing, and less for commercial fishing. Sunfish perch is mostly found in southern freshwater lakes and warm and slow-flowing streams. Its origin is in eastern waters, and then it was introduced to Pacific waters. It has rows of teeth in its mouth, continuous dorsal fins and comb-toothed scales, and feeds on insects, crayfish and other fish species. Among them, black bass and small-mouthed black bass are important aquatic species in Canada. The species of sea bass are mostly found in the Atlantic coast, but at present, little is known about them, among which the yellow-finned bass has only recently been discovered in Canadian waters.
