Personal Profile Hong Kong martial arts director and Hong Kong movie director. Former TVB star. As a young boy, he studied under the famous Chinese opera singer Pink Chrysanthemum to learn the Northern School of Martial Arts. Dong Wei is one of the most famous action directors in Hong Kong movies. He was born in Shanghai in 1954 and moved to Hong Kong at the age of four. He studied Peking Opera with Pink Juhua as a child, and also acted in small roles in movies, and at the age of 16, he began to work as a movie martial arts instructor, often working as a stunt double. He later moved to Taiwan, where he was soon promoted to martial arts instructor, and in 1979, he returned to Hong Kong to join TVB as a contracted artiste for TV dramas. He left TVB four years later to work as an actor and action designer in both Hong Kong and Taiwan. Tung Wei is a very stylish actor.
