Efficacy, function and taboo of yin-yang fire
Epimedium is warm, sweet and pungent, and enters kidney meridian and liver meridian. Has the effects of invigorating kidney, strengthening yang, expelling wind and removing dampness, and can be used for treating kidney-yang deficiency, impotence, frequent micturition, soreness of waist and knees, etc. It can be taken alone, soaked in wine with Herba Epimedii, or combined with other aphrodisiac drugs. It can also be used for treating arthralgia due to wind-cold-dampness, numbness of limbs and weakness of muscles and bones. The dosage of oral decoction is between 3g- 15g, and it can be soaked in wine. It should be noted that patients with yin deficiency and excessive fire should not use it.
