What does propolis look like?

Propolis is a resin (gum) collected by bees from plant spores or tree trunks, mixed with the secretions of their palate glands and wax glands, and processed into a gelatinous solid with an aromatic smell.

It is in the form of brown or tan solid block, becomes soft and sticky when heated, and has a unique aromatic smell.

Take it internally to replenish weakness, resolve turbid fat, and relieve thirst; take it externally to detoxify and reduce swelling. It can be used internally for physical weakness, premature aging, hyperlipidemia, and thirst; externally for chapped skin, burns, and scalds. (Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 Edition) As a health food, propolis mainly has immune-regulating effects. It also has health functions such as auxiliary antioxidant, regulating blood lipids, blood pressure, blood sugar, and auxiliary protection of gastric mucosa.
