How are crabs categorized?
Crabs are crustaceans of the phylum Arthropoda. The largest crab in the world is the Japanese crab, whose legs are as long as 1 meter and whose body is like a huge plate. A kind of crab produced in Europe is also a giant brother of the crab, slightly smaller than the Japanese crab in size, with a transverse width of the carapace of 12.5 to 25 centimeters, and a stretching distance of 1.5 meters between the sting and the sting, weighing up to 7 kilograms. This crab is more similar to a shrimp, and it is called a crab because of its resemblance, which in turn is a result of the corresponding living environment. Modern taxonomy places them in a special family of stone crabs, which are harvested as seafood each summer and can be processed into tasty canned crab meat.
