1. Cut a 15 to 20 centimeter section of floss. Wrap most of the floss around the middle finger of one hand and the remaining floss around the middle finger of the other hand.
The steps of flossing: Wrap both ends of the floss around the middle finger of your right and left hands.
2. Use the thumb and forefinger of each hand to firmly grasp a piece of floss that is about 2 to 3 centimeters long.
The steps of flossing: Hold the floss between your index finger and thumb, leaving a section in the center.
3. Slowly slide the floss between your teeth using a gentle, side-to-side rubbing motion. Do not squeeze the floss into your gums with too much force.
Flossing step-by-step: gently rubbing the floss into the teeth.
4. When the floss reaches the gum line, bend the floss into a "C" shape against one tooth and gently slide it into the deepest part of the gum sulcus, pulling up and down on the side of one tooth. Once you've completed one side, repeat the up-and-down motion on the adjacent side of the tooth.
Step-by-step flossing: Bend the floss into a C-shape and rub it up and down the side of the tooth.
5. Repeat for the remaining teeth. The used floss section has been stained with bacteria, and it is recommended that you need to replace it with another small section of floss to clean the neighboring surfaces of the next two teeth. Note: Don't forget to rub the back of the last tooth.
Flossing step-by-step: Don't forget to rub the backs of the inner most teeth.
Once you've done this, you must throw away the floss and not reuse it to avoid bringing bacteria back into your mouth.
