There are three main types to distinguish:
1. Old chicken wing wood: All chicken wing wood furniture in the Ming Dynasty and some furniture in the early Qing Dynasty use old chicken wing wood.
The first is the weight, the second is the color, and the third is that the texture is not very obvious;
2. New chicken wing wood: The new chicken wing wood mentioned here is still a product of the Qing Dynasty.
The color of new chicken wing wood is slightly heavier, brown, and the color of the texture is slightly yellow; the weight is heavier, and it can be distinguished from the old chicken wing wood by its weight; the texture is obvious, and the new chicken wing wood is better than the old chicken wing wood in the eyes of ordinary people pretty. New chicken wing wood has thick fibers, good toughness, and is difficult to carve, so any carving made from new chicken wing wood will look rough.
3. Fake chicken wing wood: There is no such thing as fake chicken wing wood. In order to distinguish it from old and new chicken wing wood, we have to use the word "fake" to distinguish it.
When you look at this kind of wood, you will think that it is vulgar and too beautiful. In terms of color, it is contrary to the restraint of old wenge wood. It is black and yellow and gaudy. It is also too heavy in weight, which is not the same as that of old wenge wood. Similar to mahogany; the most uncomfortable thing is that fake chicken wing wood has a smell during construction, which is very unpleasant. People in Guangdong call it "Jianguangwu", people in Zhejiang call it "Tokyo wood", and people in Suzhou call it "Satonium wood".
