Maanshan Specialty 3: Cao Yun Wine
Cao Yun, formerly known as Liaohua Prefecture, was once the first town in hanshan county. It has a history of 1000 years since its establishment in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Although wine-making in Cao Yun appeared as early as the late Neolithic Age, it really developed into the Three Kingdoms period at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. After Battle of Red Cliffs, although Wei, Shu and Wu were the three pillars, Cao Cao was not willing to occupy the north, but he still had the ambition to annex the rich south of the Yangtze River and unify the whole country.
From AD 208 to AD 2 16, Cao Wei and Sun Wu fought and lost in Chaohu Lake. During these eight years, the brewing technology of the Northern Jiuyun Spring Wine was introduced to Dongguan with Cao Jun, and it was introduced to the people with the large-scale military brewing of active communication. After Cao Jun retired, his wine-making technology was inherited and developed by the people of Cao Yun and passed down from generation to generation.
