Perch reaches sexual maturity within one year. At the initial stage of migration, the gonads are not yet mature, and they migrate into the sea and gradually mature. Male fish migrate to the sea earlier and female fish later. Generally, the male fish first goes to the spawning ground, drills into the cave made of oysters, and waits for the female fish to come and lay eggs. After laying eggs, the females leave.
