The Tenth Document
"Treasure of Medical Prescriptions": It is called Erchen, and orange and half are more valuable than Chenjiuer.
"Danxi Xinfa Fuyu": This recipe uses pinellia to relieve phlegm and remove dampness, orange to eliminate phlegm and improve qi, poria to reduce qi and dampness, and licorice tonify the spleen and neutralize the heart. It can be used to nourish the spleen so that dampness will not be produced, to dry out dampness and excrete dampness so that phlegm will not be produced. It can promote qi and reduce qi so that phlegm can be resolved. It can be said that it is a medicine that has both body and body functions and eliminates both the symptoms and the symptoms. Nowadays, when people see that Pinellia ternata has a dry nature, they use other medicines to replace it, but the purpose of the prescription is lost. If you suffer from blood deficiency and dryness, you might as well use ginger juice. In terms of taste, Erchen Decoction is the main medicine for treating phlegm.
"Ancient and Modern Famous Physicians' Prescriptions": Li Shicai said that obese people are more damp. Dampness carries heat and produces phlegm, and fire carries Qi and goes up. The pungent nature of Pinellia ternata can help relieve constipation and remove dampness; the pungent nature of Tangerine peel can unblock the triple burner and regulate qi; Poria cocos can be used with Pinellia ternata to remove dampness; Licorice can be used with Tangerine peel to harmonize the body, which is why Wu Ji said, Pinellia ternata moves water qi and moisturizes kidney dryness. "Jing" says that pungent is used to moisten it. When water flows, the soil will dry out, which is not the dry nature of Pinellia ternata.
"Zhang Shi Yi Tong": This prescription is based on Banxia Decoction from "Nei Jing" and Xiao Banxia Decoction from "Golden Chamber", Xiao Banxia plus Poria Decoction, etc., with licorice added to calm the stomach, and orange peel to promote qi. , black plum collects fluids, and ginger relieves phlegm, which is a special agent for regulating the spleen and stomach and treating phlegm and dampness.
"Yilin Zhuan Yao": Phlegm is caused by the stagnation of water and dampness. The pungent nature of Pinellia ternata is to moisten the kidneys and liver, appetizer and purge the lungs, and is a medicine for removing dampness and promoting water circulation, and can induce phlegm. It clears the joints, exits yin and enters yang, and can cure water stagnation from descending, so it is mainly used to treat phlegm. Water moves with Qi, and the stagnation of water and dampness forms phlegm, which is caused by the lack of Qi. The sweetness, bitterness, pungency and warmth of orange peel are mainly used to treat phlegm. It is used to circulate qi, moisten the gate of life, soothe the liver and wood, harmonize the middle qi, dry the spleen and dampness, purge lung evil, and reduce adverse qi. Therefore, when combined with pinellia, it is an adjuvant for treating phlegm; phlegm is water, and it is found in water-stained soil. Dampness, if the accumulated dampness is not transformed, it will become phlegm. Poria cocos grows in the soil and has a bland taste. It specializes in soaking the moisture in the soil. If the spleen is not thick, it cannot overcome the dampness, so licorice is used to thicken the spleen. If it is slow, it may cause dampness; the pungent nature of ginger can also relieve dampness and eliminate phlegm, not just to control pinellia poison.
"Shi Fang Ge Kuo": This prescription is an expectorant. The root of phlegm is water, and Poria cocos can make water to cure the root cause; the movement of phlegm is caused by dampness, and Poria cocos can exude dampness to calm its movement. Only this one in the prescription is a corrective medicine for treating phlegm. The rest include Pinellia ternata to reduce phlegm, Tangerine peel to smooth Qi, and Licorice to harmonize. They are all taken as an adjunct to Poria cocos. Therefore, in Zhongjing's book, those with excessive phlegm should be given Poria cocos, and those with vomiting should be given Pinellia ternata. This is the ancient sage's difficult method. Today's people follow ancient teachings and use Pinellia ternata as a special product for eliminating phlegm. They imitate the method of thin saliva powder and prepare it with alum.
"Journal of Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine" (1986; 2:40): Black plum nourishes yin and restrains the liver, and is combined with licorice. The acidity and sweetness can be used to transform yin and nourish the stomach. Although summer and tangerine are valuable in the prescription, they still do not lose the disadvantage of calamizing yin. Wu plum is used to control the dryness of pinellia, so that the dryness of pinellia is completely lost without the risk of harming yin. Black plum promotes fluid production without harming yin. Nourishing and greasy worries complement each other and bring out the best in each other. The merit of the black plum is extremely great and its contribution cannot be ignored. It is the finishing touch in the formula. The black plum in Erchen Decoction nourishes stomach yin and astringes liver qi, but later generations often failed to notice it and lost the original purpose of its preparation.
