Wash the beetroot, grate it into thin strips with a grater, put it into the pot, add an appropriate amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat, and simmer over low heat. After about an hour, turn off the heat. When it cools down, pick up the shredded beetroot, squeeze it dry, and discard it (it can be used as feed for pigs and chickens). Simmer the remaining water over low heat until it becomes a thick "sugar syrup".
