White oil, also known as white mineral oil and liquid paraffin, is a mixture of refined liquid hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum, mainly a mixture of saturated cycloalkane and paraffin. Crude oil is obtained through atmospheric and vacuum fractionation, solvent extraction, dewaxing and hydrofining. It can be used as a coating agent in food industry.
GB 2760-20 14 "Standard for the Use of Food Additives in National Standards for Food Safety" stipulates that food-grade white oil can be directly added as a food additive: it can be used for other sweets and fresh eggs except gum-based sweets, with a maximum dosage of 5.0g/kg;; ; It can also be used as a processing aid for processing potato chips, grease, candy and collagen casings.
Processing technology, puffed food processing technology and grain processing technology (used for dust prevention) play the role of defoamer, release agent and film coating agent.
At present, the reference standard of food-grade white oil is GB 4853-2008 Food-grade White Oil.
