In late June after the midsummer, Solstice, the most beautiful back mountain in Taiwan Province, is pregnant with the seeds of hope sown in spring under the warm sunshine. Among them, Roger, a pioneer of natural agriculture in Ming Xiu who doesn't use chemical fertilizers, pesticides and pest control materials, set his practice field in Beinan Township, a place name known to both genera in Taitung.
In Beinan Township, which is surrounded by Central Mountain School and coastal mountains, Roger's home is a courtyard with a large open space in front of the door in the rolling mountains. As soon as I got started, I heard the classical classics played on the radio, the stories of ancient sages and sages, the children studying at home, and Zhang Zhu's four pairs of round eyes looked at the visitors. When I got up in the morning, it happened to be their reading time. They are not afraid of unfamiliar faces and don't feel disturbed, and continue to concentrate on the classics they are reciting.
No sooner had my eldest daughter and son gone out for lunch than I saw my third son Luo Jiangyu and my fourth son Luo Chengcheng gearing up in the front yard, picking up their own flags made of plastic sheets and bamboo poles, waving them, naming their troops and running towards each other. The youngest daughter, Luo Xinde, just turned two, watched her brothers run in and out desperately and smiled happily. Asked if they were tired and wanted to take a lunch break, they laughed their front teeth off and didn't answer. Think about children of this age. Few people like taking a lunch break. Instead of pretending to sleep with adults, let them spend their childhood in the sun.
▲ Roger Ming Xiu planted a pineapple field in natural agriculture. Pineapple takes two and a half years to harvest and tastes very good.
In the afternoon, farming classes and land blind date open the senses.
After three o'clock in the afternoon, when the sun gradually converges to the light of * * *, Roger's hands-on agriculture class for the children is ready to start. In Roger's blue van, there is a small bench in the back seat of the flat plate with no cover above. The third general Yu and the fourth general will work together to seat their younger brother and sister and set off for the pineapple field.
In Roger's natural agricultural pineapple field, he planted fruit trees, vegetables, roots, fruits and so on. The thorns on these pineapple leaves will prick people. After putting on the cuff, you can still feel the tiny needles constantly piercing the skin. Because there is no pesticide spraying, pineapples are naturally covered with weeds. If you don't pull it by hand quickly, it will show a scene of "grass full of beans and seedlings sparse". Several children put on their sleeves and immediately began to work in different districts. Their hands and feet are very sharp, because of the thorns on the pineapple leaves, they crawl forward without hesitation or slowing down. Asked if the child would feel tingling, Jiang Yu actually smiled and said, "Yes! Just get used to it! 」。
"Look! There is a nest! The children gave a cry of excitement, and Roger hurried forward to count the birds in the nest with the children and the places where the mother birds who were foraging flew together. Fang stopped pulling grass at hand and looked up after the bird took off, only to find that there was a hill in front of this pineapple field.
▲ Roger's field attracts birds to nest from time to time, and children get close to hungry chicks, just like a natural ecology class.
Immediately, Roger pointed to the opposite hill with emotion and said to the children, "Another hill has been dug." Raise your eyes, the mountain is far away, and you can't see the strange hand at all. Ask Jiang Yu if he can see the hill in front being dug? He said, I can't see, but I can hear.
It turns out that forest primary schools and schools outside the system constantly want to open up and train the five senses of listening, seeing and smelling. Roger's children have already developed unconsciously in such a natural environment. Those sorrows about the bullying of the forest and the earth, and those surprises about the vitality of insects, birds and crops have long been left in the hearts of children.
