The method is as follows:

1. First, prepare a container. Use a spoon to scoop out two tablespoons of baking soda. Baking soda is usually found in the kitchen at home. If you don’t have baking soda in your kitchen, you can find it in supermarkets and it’s not expensive.

2. Pour some water into the container to dissolve the baking soda, preferably hot water, and not too much water, to make a saturated baking soda solution.

3. Pour dish soap into the container. The brand of dish soap is arbitrary. It is mainly used to increase the lubrication of the crystal mud. This dish soap comes with its own color, so this crystal mud doesn’t even require pigment.

4. Next, put in contact lens care solution to form the mask. If you don’t have eyeglass care solution, you can put borax water, or some brands of laundry detergent.

5. Stir constantly. You will find that the solution in the container will become viscous after a while. At this time the crystal mud has taken shape, but it is not transparent.

6. The reason why the crystal mud is opaque is that a lot of bubbles are mixed in when it is stirred, so you need to put it in a container and let it sit for about 2 days to let the bubbles disappear naturally. It is best to keep the container airtight. If it is not airtight, the water will evaporate and the crystal mud will dry out.

7. After almost 2 days, I got a very clear and transparent crystal mud.
